Beautifly (Japanese: アゲハント Agehunt) is a dual-type Bug/Flying Pokémon.
It evolves from Silcoon starting at level 10. It is one of Wurmple's final forms.
Biology
Physiology
Beautifly is a mostly black-colored butterfly-like Pokémon. Beautifly has a long, curled black proboscis, large blue eyes and black antennae extending out of its head. Beautifly’s face, underside, and four stubby limbs are gray in coloration. Beautifly’s wings are large and colorful, the largest markings being yellow, with accentuations of red and blue. The rim of the wing also has a line of yellow on the edge, and the lower pair of wings has a long, round-tipped extension.
Gender differences
The red spots on the top of a female's wings are smaller than those on a male's wings.
Special abilities
Beautifly are capable of sapping energy with Absorb, Mega Drain, and Giga Drain, restoring health with Morning Sun, and stunning their opponents with Stun Spore. It can also jab its long, thin mouth at foes when attacking, or when perturbed collecting pollen.
Behavior
Although they have a gentle appearance, Beautifly have been known to be very aggressive. It savagely attacks other Pokémon by sucking their body fluids. In forested areas such as Pokémon preserves, they can be seen flying overhead in groups.
Habitat
Beautifly live in forests and flowery fields.
Diet

Major appearances
May's Beautifly
May's Silcoon evolved into a Beautifly in Seeing is Believing. Beautifly from then on was used in many Contests by May. It made her Torchic feel very jealous and wanting to evolve. Beautifly left May's team to go to Petalburg Gym.
Aaron's Beautifly
Aaron's Wurmple was revealed to have evolved into Beautifly in A Trainer and Child Reunion!.
Other
In All Things Bright and Beautifly, Janet used a Beautifly in a Pokémon Contest.
A flock of Beautifly appeared in A Bite to Remember.
Minor appearances
Sakura also has a Beautifly, which she used to help Misty stop thieves in The Blue Badge of Courage.
A trainer at the beginning of Arceus and the Jewel of Life used a Beautifly against Ash and Dawn.

Trivia
- Beautifly shares the same species name with Butterfree. They are both known as Butterfly Pokémon.
- While Beautifly cannot learn Iron Defense itself, it can be taught it as a Silcoon before evolving. It shares this trait with Beedrill, Butterfree, Dustox, Huntail, Gorebyss, and Salamence.
- Beautifly's sprites has never changed significantly since it's arrival in Generation III
Origin
Beautifly appears to be based on the swallowtail butterfly while its shiny coloration may be based on the eastern tiger swallowtail's.
Name origin
Beautifly's name is a combination of the words beauty and butterfly. It could also be a play on the word beautify.
Agehunt could be a combination of 揚羽蝶 agehachō, swallowtail butterfly, and hunt.
