Hiyappu is a primate-like, blue-and-yellow Water-type Pokémon. The proportion of its head and large ears are similar to that of Aipom, although the insides of its ears are light blue. The upper half of its head and the puffy, wave-like feature atop is blue. Hiyappu's eyes are oval-shaped, and the lower half of its face is yellow with a small, dot-like nose. It also possesses a blue, frilled-like feature on its neck and upper shoulders. Its upper body and its skinny forelimbs are yellow, and its hands seem to have no fingers, aside from thumbs. Hiyappu’s lower body is yellow with small feet, and its wiry tail is tipped with a clover-shaped feature.

Habitat

In the Pocket Monsters BW manga, Corn uses a Hiyappu against Isamu Akai's Clefairy in PMBW03 when he tries to instigate a fight between Corn and his brothers Dent and Pod. The three brothers use their Pokémon against Clefairy, however, their group attack backfires when Clefairy uses the effects of Baoppu, Hiyappu and Yanappu's attacks to make green tea.
In the Pokémon Master Black & White manga
A Hiyappu was shown in Monta's possession in PBW02. He used it against Cheren in a triple battle.
Hiyappu, along with Yanappu and Baoppu, and their respective evolutions, are the only non-starters that can have a starter-exclusive ability. In Hiyappu and Hiyakkie's case, this is Torrent.
Hiyappu is based off a monkey and a fountain; because of this, it may have been inspired by the water dwelling, monkey-like creature Ahuizotl. It may also be based on a geyser or possibly a visual pun of sea monkeys. Hiyappu, along with its two contemporaries, seem to be based on the three wise monkeys motif. Hiyappu, with its eyes closed, represents "See No Evil."
Name origin
Hiyappu's name is possibly derived from 冷や hiya, meaning cool water, and from ape.
