Sudowoodo comes with one of two Abilities: Sturdy, which prevents One-Hit KO attacks from having any effect; or Rock Head, which eliminates the recoil from certain attacks -- for instance, Double-Edge.
Sudowoodo first appeared in EP162. Two Pokémon researchers were arguing whether Sudowoodo was a Grass or Rock type.
A Sudowoodo was pretending to be part of a tree in Camp Pikachu.
A Golden Sudowoodo appeared in AG172. A boy named Kenin experimented on his Sudowoodo to make it strong against Water and turned golden. The Sudowoodo was upset with the change, and hated Kenin for what he did to it. Kenin managed to turn his Sudowoodo back to normal at the end of the episode.
Sudowoodo is a Poké Float. After Wooper first appears, it will move down the right of the screen while Sudowoodo is on the left. Unlike most of the Poké Floats, players are not required to ever go on Sudowoodo. A trophy of Sudowoodo can be obtained after playing on the Poké Floats stage.
Sudowoodo camoflages itself as a tree to avoid being attacked by enemies. However, because the forelegs remain green throughout the year, the Pokémon is easily identified as a fake during the winter.

It may be based on petrified wood, plants which have become fossilized over time.
Name origin
Sudowoodo's name may be a combination of pseudo, false, and wood. Its Japanese name could be a misspelling of 嘘つき usotsuki, fibber. It could also be a combination of 嘘 uso, false, and 木 ki, wood.
