Fury Attack (Japanese: みだれづき Disturbed Stab) is a damage-dealing Normal multi-strike move introduced in Generation I.

It appears to be a counterpart to Fury Swipes, as the type, effect, and names are the same or very similar.
Effect
Generation I
Fury Attack inflicts damage, hitting the target 2-5 times per use. There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 37.5% chance that it will hit 3 times, a 12.5% chance that it will hit 4 times, and a 12.5% chance that it will hit 5 times. Although only the first strike can be a critical hit, each successive one will deal the same amount of damage.

In this generation only, Fury Attack will end immediately if it breaks a substitute. Bide and Counter will only acknowledge the last strike of this move.

Effect
Generation II
Generation I
All strikes now do damage independently, enabling any of them to be critical hits. Fury Attack may now continue attacking after breaking a substitute.
Fury Attack inflicts damage, hitting 2-5 times per use. There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 37.5% chance that it will hit 3 times, a 12.5% chance that it will hit 4 times, and a 12.5% chance that it will hit 5 times. This gives the attack an average power of 45, ignoring the possibility of missing. Although only the first hit can be a critical hit, each successive hit will deal the same amount of damage.

If the user is holding a King's Rock, the final strike has a chance to cause the opponent to flinch.

Generations III and IV
If the target has an Ability that activates upon contact, each strike counts individually, enabling the Ability to activate multiple times.

Pokémon with the Ability Skill Link will always hit five times when using Fury Attack unless it misses.

Fury Attack will end immediately if it breaks a substitute. Bide and Counter will only acknowledge the last hit of this move.
If the user is holding a King's Rock or Razor Fang, each consecutive hit has an equal chance to cause the opponent to flinch.

Generation II
Fury Attack can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 2 bonus appeal points if Horn Attack or Peck was used in the previous turn.
Same as Generation I, but all hits will do damage independently, consequently enabling any of them to be critical.

Generation III
Generation V onwards
If the target has an Ability which activates upon contact, each hit counts individually, enabling the Ability to activate multiple times.
There is now a 35% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 35% chance it will hit 3 times, a 15% chance it will hit 4 times, and a 15% chance it will hit 5 times. The average total base power (including the 15% base miss chance) is now 39.5.

Generation IV
If a Focus Sash activates before the last strike is dealt, the following strike will cause the defending Pokémon to faint. A Focus Band can still activate repeatedly to prevent fainting, but each chance is independent. Sturdy will activate with each hit if the defending Pokémon has a maximum HP of 1.
Same as previous generations, except it will continue attacking after a substitute is broken.

Generation V
If the target has Weak Armor or Stamina, each strike will activate it.
Unlike previous generations, if Focus Sash, Focus Band, or Sturdy activate before the last hit is dealt, the following hit will cause the defending Pokémon to faint; however, Focus Band can still activate repeatedly to prevent fainting, but each chance is independent of the previous one. Each hit will cause Weak Armor to activate.

If the target is holding a Rocky Helmet, the user is damaged for each hit.
If the target is holding a Rocky Helmet, the user is damaged for each strike.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series
Fury Attack inflicts damage, hitting the target 2-5 times per use. Each hit has a separate accuracy check, though the move will continue even when a hit fails. Prior to Gates to Infinity, if a targeted Pokémon faints in middle of the attack and is revived with a Reviver Seed, the remaining hits will be able to continue to attack the enemy. The move's critical-hit rate is reduced (1% in the Rescue Team, Explorers and Adventure Squad series).

Fury Attack (Japanese: みだれづき Disturbed Stab) is a damage-dealing Normal-type multi-strike move introduced in Generation I.

Generation II

All strikes now do damage independently, enabling any of them to be critical hits. Fury Attack may now continue attacking after breaking a substitute.

If the user is holding a King's Rock or Razor Fang, each consecutive hit has an equal chance to cause the opponent to flinch.

Fury Attack can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 2 bonus appeal points if Horn Attack or Peck was used in the previous turn.

Generation V onwards

There is now a 35% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 35% chance it will hit 3 times, a 15% chance it will hit 4 times, and a 15% chance it will hit 5 times. The average total base power (including the 15% base miss chance) is now 39.5.

If the target has Weak Armor or Stamina, each strike will activate it.
