As in the core series games, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series makes use of evolutionary items to make certain Pokémon evolve.
In Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, evolution items do not exist, and all Pokémon with special evolution methods can be evolved instantly.
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, all evolution items were replaced with Evolution Crystals. Evolution Crystals can be found at the end of many optional post-game dungeons, or as rewards for doing missions.

Pokémon that are typically evolved by trading are evolved using this item, as Pokémon themselves cannot be traded. An item called the Linking Cord also exists in Pokémon Legends: Arceus which works similarly to the Link Cable. |
