Lileep (Pokémon)
Revision as of 15:28, 30 September 2020 by Crummymummy(talk | contribs)(Confirmed by newest trailer featuring Cradily. Should probably use this placeholder info for all returning Crown Tundra Pokemon.)
Lileep is a somewhat plantlike Pokémon with eight dark-tipped, pink tentacles protruding from an opening on top of its head. Inside the pitch-black opening are two glowing, yellow eyes. The remainder of its head is purple with yellow eyespots resembling targets. The head is connected to the body by means of a yellow stem. The body itself is purple and semi-spherical. Four stubby roots anchor this Pokémon firmly to the rocks of its home on the sea floor.
In ancient times, it lived in warm seas. It waves its tentacles around to disguise itself as seaweed in order to attract prey, which is swallowed whole after being entangled. Lileep has been extinct for 100 million years, but specimens can be revived from Root Fossils.
Lileep became extinct approximately a hundred million years ago. This ancient Pokémon attaches itself to a rock on the seafloor and catches approaching prey using tentacles shaped like flower petals.
Lileep is an ancient Pokémon that was regenerated from a fossil. It remains permanently anchored to a rock. From its immobile perch, this Pokémon intently scans for prey with its two eyes.
It disguises itself as seaweed by making its tentacles sway. Unsuspecting prey that come too close are swallowed whole. It became extinct 100 million years ago.

Lileep may be based on crinoids (also known as sea lilies), extant marine animals. Crinoid fossils are particularly abundant, possibly inspiring Lileep's status as a fossil Pokémon.
Name origin
Lileep may be a combination of lily and peep (it seems to peep out from the darkness). The latter part of its name may also derive from deep (coming from the depths of the ocean floor) or sleep (as they have been sleeping as Fossils for over one hundred million years).
Lilyla may be a play on lily and possibly lila (Spanish for lilac, referring to its purple color).
