Trivia
- Chatot's US name was revealed on December 17, 2006.
- Prior to the release of Diamond and Pearl, Chatot was believed to be the first naturally pure Flying-type Pokémon.
- Chatot is one of the few Pokémon in the games that says its name in its cry. However, in the English version of the games, it still says its Japanese name "Perap" rather than "Chatot".
- Although Chatot's tail very closely resembles a metronome, it cannot learn Template:M2.
- It's official artwork gives the sense that Chatot have an evil nature, but in anime appearances, it seems very cheerful and peppy.
Origin
Chatot is apparently based on a parrot. Its head looks like an eighth note, and its tail resembles a metronome. Additionally, its white neck feathers resemble a collar.
Name origin
Chatot's name comes from chat and parrot. Chatot's Japanese name comes from the words parrot and rap. The name could also come from the Japanese word perapera, which can mean "fluent in languages" and is also similar to "blablabla", referring to the fact that real world parrots can learn to speak human languages, and sometimes talk too much.
