Trivia
- Shibirudon and its evolutionary relatives are the only Pokémon to have no weaknesses that are not Ghost/Dark-type. However, this is due to their ability, Levitate, which eliminates their sole weakness to the Ground type (whereas the Ghost/Dark-types have no weaknesses without the use of an ability).
- Also, Shibirudon and its family are the only Pokémon to have no weaknesses, and also have evolutionary relatives.
Origin
Shibirudon and its evolutionary relatives may be based on electric eels, lampreys, jawless fish and possibly leeches. Their electric type may be an allusion to bioluminescence. Oddly enough, however, none of them are able to learn any water-type attacks, with the sole exception of Rain Dance.
Name origin
Its name is likely a combination of 痺れ shibire, numbness, don, Spanish word for boss of a group, and ドンドン dondon, rapidly.
