Oddish (Japanese: ナゾノクサ Nazonokusa, German: Myrapla, French: Mystherbe) is a Grass/Poison-type Pokémon.
Pokédex entries
- Pokémon Emerald
- This Pokémon grows by absorbing moonlight. During the daytime, it buries itself in the ground, leaving only its leaves exposed to avoid detection by its enemies.
- Pokémon FireRed
- Its scientific name is "Oddium Wanderus." At night, it is said to walk nearly 1,000 feet on its two roots.
Name origin
Oddish's name is a combination of the words odd and the vegetable known as radish, although oddish is a word in itself, meaning somewhat odd. Nazonokusa may be taken to mean 謎の草, enigmatic grass. Mystherbe could be taken to mean "mystic herb".
Oddish is most likely based on a radish or other root vegetable.
