Location of Tarroco Island in the Orange Islands

Tarroco Island (Japanese: バンペイユ島 Banpeiyu Island) is an island in the Orange Archipelago. It is a large island that is strictly a 'No-capture zone', meaning Pokémon cannot be captured around the area. A lot of its houses are similar in design to the ones on Mandarin Island South, but newer. An Officer Jenny patrols the streets of Tarroco Island.

Because the island is a 'No-capture zone', it is a very common place for pirates to appear and poach the Pokémon on the island.

Its English name refers to the tarocco (blood orange), while its Japanese name is another term for the pomelo.

A large Pokémon Center on the edge of the island looking over a cliff. It looks like a large church with a Poké Ball on the main tower. Although it seems very big, the main lobby is very small, only holding a main desk and one telephone. There is also a Recovery Room where the Pokémon are healed.

Trivia

  • Its English name comes from a cultivar of blood oranges. The Japanese name, Banpeiyu, refers to a large citrus fruit whose appearance is similar to a grapefruit.
