Vullaby (Japanese: バルチャイ Baruchai) is a dual-type Dark/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves into Mandibuzz starting at level 54.
Biology
Physiology
Vullaby resembles a baby vulture. It has a plump, stout body, tiny wings, and stumpy feet. Its neck is short and supports a round head devoid of any feathers except for an enormous crest on the top. It seems to be wearing a broken skull as a diaper-like undergarment, hence its species name.
Gender differences
Vullaby is a female-only species. Its male counterpart is Rufflet; however, it can only produce Vullaby eggs.
Special abilities
Vullaby are uncommonly skilled at finding skeletons and using them as armor.
Behavior
It has the tendency to use broken skeleton pieces, most likely skulls, as diaper-like clothing to protect its rump. It will chase after weaker creatures.

Trivia
- According to Game Freak, Vullaby was created by James Turner.[1]
- Vullaby can learn Fly despite its Black Pokédex entry saying that its wings are too small for it to fly.
Origin
Vullaby is based on a vulture chick.
Name origin
The name Vullaby is likely a combination of vulture and lullaby, which are often sung to children. Its Japanese name is likely a combination of バルチャー baruchā, vulture, and チャイルド chairudo, child.
