Hi, and welcome to my user page. My name's Dannyboy601, though I commonly go by the names of Dannyboy, Daniel, Danny, or simply Dan, and I'm your typical WikiGnome.

History with Pokémon

The earliest memory that I have related to the Pokémon franchise is of me watching a few episodes of the Original series with my older sister in the year 2000. She, like most 90's children, was a huge fan of the Pokémon anime back then, despite not owning any of the Pokémon games, and some of it rubbed off on me. I could recall the names of several of the original characters and Pokémon species, though my three year old mind had its limits. As she grew out of watching the show, I eventually forgot about it, and what little interest I had in the franchise disappeared. I was aware of its existence while growing up, but I never particularly cared for it.

Seven years later, Diamond and Pearl were released. My mother randomly chose to purchase the former for my twin brother as a birthday present, and he really enjoyed playing it. Not wanting to be left out, I asked my mother if I could have Pokémon Pearl, and I received the game a few months later. I chose Piplup as my starter Pokémon, and loved the game to bits. Me and my brother's interest in Pokémon—and Nintendo games in general—then began to grow, and we went on to own Pokémon Ranger, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, Pokémon Battle Revolution, XD, Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, HeartGold and SoulSilver, Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, and Black and White.

My brother didn't particularly enjoy Black and White, and soon began to lose interest in the series. I, however, decided to see what I'd missed and play as many games in the series as I could, starting from Generation I, and even brought myself a Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance in order to do so. I managed to persuade my brother to do the same, and since then, we've obtained Black 2 and White 2, X and Y, Red, Blue, and Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal, Ruby and Sapphire, and FireRed and LeafGreen. We've currently completed the whole of Generation I and Generation II, and are working on Nuzlocke Challenges in the Generation III games.

History with Bulbapedia

I discovered Bulbapedia after I'd played through Pearl numerous times, and was scouring the internet for any potential secrets or Pokémon that I'd managed to miss. I mainly used it to look up what Egg moves Pokémon could have, as well as find out more about the numerous Pokémon that couldn't be caught in the game. However, I didn't create an account here until early 2010, and I didn't do much aside from add poor-quality trivia and make embarrassing newbie edits. I took a brief break, but then returned later in the year, shortly after Black and White were released in Japan, in order to help out with updating pages. I made several, sparsely placed edits of various natures throughout 2011, with the quality of them gradually getting better. This followed over to 2012, but abruptly stopped after January. Around this time, I began to contribute to Zelda Wiki, so my edits sharply decreased in quantity and increased in quality once I came back here in September. I made absolutely no edits in 2013, due to devoting all of my effort to Zelda Wiki, and only started to edit Bulbapedia again in early 2014, albeit not regularly.

Generation III

I haven't actually completed any of the Generation III games yet, though I will reveal that I've picked Treecko on Ruby and Charmander on FireRed as my starter Pokémon.

Generation IV

Sadly, I erased all of my Generation IV save files in order to begin Nuzlocke Challenges on them, so I've got no record of the numerous teams that I've had in Pearl and HeartGold.
