(Japanese: ナットレイ Nattorei) is a dual-type Grass/Steel Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves from Tesshido starting at level 40.
Biology
Physiology
Nattorei is a Pokémon resembling a flattened durian made of metal. Its body is covered in metal thorns, with two black stripes circling its width, the lower stripe having triangular decorations below the eyes of Nattorei. Its eyes have green rims, yellow schleras, and dark pupils. There is a green spike at the top of its body, and extending around it are vine-like, long green appendages tipped with spiky metal disks.
Gender differences
Special abilities
Nattorei can learn a variety of moves that make use of its spikes, such as Pin Missle and Spikes, along with its ability, Iron Thorns. Its vine-like appendages also allow it to learn moves like Hone Claws, Shadow Claw, and Power Whip. Much like the similar Forretress, Nattorei can also use Selfdestruct and Explosion. Nattorei's Steel typing allows it to lean Metal Claw and Iron Head, whereas its Grass typing allows it to learn Seed Bomb and Leech Seed.
Behavior
It clings to cave ceilings and attacks prey underneath by shooting spikes.
Habitat
They usually live in caves.

Trivia
- No other Pokémon have the same type combination as Nattorei and its pre-evolved form.
- Similarly, as of Generation V, no other Pokémon have same dual egg group as Nattorei and its pre-evolution. In this case, both in Plant and Mineral are unique.
- Thanks to this typing, Nattorei and its pre-evolution are the only Grass-types immune to Poison attacks.
- Nattorei and its pre-evolution have the least weaknesses of all grass type Pokémon.
- Nattorei has the second-lowest base Speed stat of all Grass- and Steel-type Pokémon, with only its pre-evolution having a lower stat. It also has the highest base Defense of all Grass-type Pokémon, as well as the highest non-legendary Special Defense of all Grass-type Pokémon, being beaten only by Virizion.
- Nattorei is the only Pokémon that has a base stat total of 489.
Origin
It appears to be based on a type of brier plant.
Name origin
Its name may be a combination of ナット natto, nut, and 豊麗 hourei, splendor.
