Trivia
- Excluding Arceus holding the Insect Plate, Genesect is the only Template:Type2 Legendary Pokémon.
- Interestingly, Genesect can learn Fly, despite having no visible wings or known method of flight.
- This makes it and Urugamoth the only permanent Bug-type Pokémon to be able to learn Fly, including those that are part Flying-type.
- Genesect is currently the only Pokémon which names a villainous team in its Pokédex entry.
- Genesect is currently the last Pokémon in the National Pokédex order.
Origin
Genesect may be generally based on the giant insects of the Paleozoic era, although its Steel-type features give it a somewhat robotic appearance. The fact that it has existed for 300,000,000 years is identical to that of cockroaches.
Name origin
Genesect's name may be a combination of the English words genetic, genome or genocide and insect. Genesect also sounds like the word "genesis", meaning "origin", although Gensect itself has possibly nothing to do with creation or beginnings.
