Hau'oli Cemetery
ハウオリ霊園 Hauʻoli Cemetery
"Ahead lies our cemetery. Within lies eternity."
Map description:
The people and Pokémon on Melemele Island share their lives, and here they have also shared their graves for generations.
Hau'oli Cemetery is a graveyard for people and Pokémon alike from across Melemele Island, appropriately filled with tombstones and memorial flowers. People often come here to pay their respects to their deceased loved ones. Some of these people are Trainers missing their dead partners, and are willing to battle the player to try to forget about their sadness. Due to the place's heavy relation with the dead, several different kinds of Ghost-type Pokémon can be encountered here, like in most graveyards of the Pokémon world.
After the player has obtained the Ride Pager, they can visit the cemetery at night to meet a woman riding a Machamp. She explains to the player how she's paying respects to her dead husband, who died in an accident years ago. Her Machamp, which originally belonged to her husband, was narrowly saved from dying in the same accident by being recalled back into its Poké Ball at the last second. Overcome by survivor guilt, Machamp came to dislike its Poké Ball and flung it off somewhere. Before leaving, the woman will give the player her husband's TM56 (Fling).

One of the Trainers here is Pokémon Breeder Ikue, who uses Pikachu. This is a reference to Ikue Otani, the voice actress for Ash's Pikachu in the anime (in both the original Japanese and dubs).
