Barraskewda (Japanese: カマスジョー Kamasujō) is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII.

It evolves from Arrokuda starting at level 26.

Barraskewda's jaws are said to be as sharp as a spear and strong like steel. The flesh of Barraskewda are surprisingly tasty. Barraskewda can propel itself up to speeds of 100 knots by spinning its tail. It uses that speed to ram into its prey by spearing it.

Sword This Pokémon has a jaw that's as sharp as a spear and as strong as steel. Apparently Barraskewda's flesh is surprisingly tasty, too.
Shield It spins its tail fins to propel itself, surging forward at speeds of over 100 knots before ramming prey and spearing into them.

Origin

Barraskewda seems to be based on a barracuda and also resembles other large, aggressive freshwater fish such as the gar, sturgeon, and northern pike. It also shares traits with torpedoes, such as its spinning propeller-like tail.

Name origin

Barraskewda may be a combination of barracuda and skewer.

Kamasujō may be a combination of 梭子魚 kamasu (barracuda) and jaw.
