Where did you get Akari's actual gender from? I changed his gender from male to unknown because he was referred to as both a male and female in the actual manga, and I found it to be debatable. That also explains why the male pronouns were changed to it. Oh and one more thing. Someone should probably create a page for the manga versions of Nate and Rosa (their names are Rakutsu and Fites which pretty much means Black2 and White2 with some reversions) and create a separate page for manga Hugh. I would but I'm not even sure what to call the article since no one "official" confirmed the English translations of their names and Ataro. Just thought I'd run this by you. Thanks! Arceus101 (talk) 01:36, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

:I have no idea why the prologue round wasn't made an article. It should be. Maybe because it's undecided what the round numbering will be? It'll probably be put in a volume once the BW chapter catches up do you think? For B2W2 and the new characters, you could create articles in the userspace for now (doesn't count against usual userspace limits) and we can move it when ready. ::I never made a page for it because unlike the Mt. Silver chapters, there's no reason to assume that it won't be in a volume. I have a page for the two in the works, but I protected them from being made because I don't want people making them when we had little to no info. Now that we do have info, they're ready to go, but...since the likelihood of anyone in this franchise ever having the same name as them is very low...should they have (Adventures) suffix like all the other Pokedex holders? Ataro (talk) 22:33, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
:::Ah, that's what I figured, if it's likely to go in a volume then it'll get numbered once those other rounds are volume-ified and created then. I don't think that we need (Adventures) at the end if the name is so unlikely to be shared. Otherwise we'd have like "Blasty (Adventures)" instead of just "Blasty", right? :::::Here is what I have so far... so much material... if something simpler is preferred (similar to that of Serebii's) and only important events (e.g. capturing, evolving, releasing, Gym Leader/Coordinator accomplishments and not meeting characters), then I think I could work that out as well. :::::::Haha, thanks so much. =) Been c-ving from the major events of each round with some rewording, haha. ::::::::At the moment, do you think it's safe to presume that DP takes place three years after HGSS and that BW takes place three years after Platinum? There is evidence suggesting that the DP trio were four when GSC was taking place and if one assumes that Looker got the Plasma sages mission approximately the same time as the B2W2 prologue where Ghetsis was getting the Plasma sages started on their deeds, which was five years prior to the current setting of B2W2, then that places Platinum three years before BW. I know that these are just assumptions (albeit backed up by evidence), even the History of the Pokemon World page is mostly based on assumptions and there is the template above the page that states it. I doubt that the Pokemon Adventures timeline can be 100% completed with all 100% certain facts so should we add strongly suggested presumptions to the page? What do you think, Zesty? Arceus101 (talk) 20:18, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
(resetting indent) Additional notes... a couple of questions now that it has been mainspaced... how/where should I place PSs1 and PSs2? Also, considering we have this article already, would it be redundant if I were to have all that information again or should I instead use the main template? <span style="color:#FF1111">ht</span><span style="color:#11BB11"><small>14</small></span> 01:37, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
:I would double-check with Ataro for the special rounds since he is more familiar with them... as far as I know they take place sometime after the Gold, Silver & Crystal. Ah, I forgot about that 80-day timeline article! It's pretty big on its own and seems to be fairly complete including other storyline events (rather than just listing Badges and Ribbons) so I would use Main. Any other significant events can be added to either article. I think those assumptions are fine considering they are backed by evidence, though when adding them I would be sure to state "this chapter takes place approximately [years] after other!chapter, supported by the evidence of blahblahblah" and make sure that it's known it's approximate, rather than explicitly stated. Other than that everything seems good I think. ::Alright thanks Zesty. And sorry but one more question. This may or may not be for future reference but at the beginning of the timeline page, it lists how many years prior to the series the main characters (among others) were born. But what should we do about the characters that were born either at or after the series started? If BW indeed takes place three years after Platinum, then do the math and that places Blacks birthdate (and White's too, most likely) at the same time the series started. And assuming that Rakutsu and Faitsu are 14 in B2W2 and also assuming that the chapter is two years after BW just like in the games, that means that Rakutsu and Faitsu were born two years AFTER the start of the series. And if future chapters aren't prequels and if the main characters of those chapters are kids, then that will pose an even bigger problem. So what should we do about that? Should we add a template right before the chapter where the character is assumed to be born and add it there? For example, Black was born around the same time as the RGB chapter so right before the timeline of the first chapter? And for Rakutsu and Faitsu, since they were born at around the Yellow chapter, we list their births right before the Yellow chapter timeline? == That stupid template. ==
OK, I don't know who made this thing, but it doesn't seem to work. Ever. I can't add Black 2 & White to the Black & White chapter page without it doing nothing by still saying that it's "unannounced". I also still can't get it to display the first and last chapters of HeartGold & SoulSilver. It was the same with Platinum, until Werd tinkered with the stupid thing and got it to work...for that. Also, are there even colors for Black 2 & White 2? All I get is the base green color. Ataro (talk) 18:20, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
:There is Black 2 color and White 2 color - I would've made them without a space if it was me, but eh, there they are. == Important events, evolutions, badges obtained, etc. etc. for recent volumes ==
Like the title implies, someone should probably add those in for the recent volumes. I would do it myself but I kinda only know the general info for Pokemon Adventures and I'm too busy to go through all the volumes again so I'm probably not the guy. Since you're the leader of Project Manga, are you able to do it? If you're too busy, then I understand. == The owner of the Amoonguss ==
About the Amoonguss that knocked out Bianca, can we be sure that that Pokemon belonged to a Team Plasma grunt? When I read the chapter, it sure looked like Bronius was controlling it. Also, in the chapter where the regular trainers were battling the Plasma sages, one of them were controlling an Amoonguss. Can't it be assumed that Bronius was controlling that Amoonguss so therefore in the earlier chapter where the Plasma grunts were kidnapping the Pokemon in Celestia City, that one belonged to him? Idk who got the assumption that the Amoonguss belonged to a Team Plasma grunt but I'm pretty sure that it's wrong. What do you think? Arceus101 (talk) 19:54, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
:Hmm. I reviewed that round and it really looks to me that the Amoonguss belongs to Bronius... I suppose the assumption came from the fact that Bronius tells the Plasma grunt that he blew his chance to steal Litwick, insinuating that he originally controlled Amoonguss when they attacked Bianca. However that is just an assumption and the Amoonguss seems more clearly associated with Bronius, especially since Black calls for Amoonguss's Trainer to reveal themself and Brav leads Black to Bronius first. In addition to the evidence you mentioned from later it seems more likely to assume it is in Bronius's ownership rather than the Plasma grunt's. Unless the Plasma grunt was shown in the flashback with Amoonguss (which didn't happen) then there's no reason to assume they are together. Bronius seems a lot more likely to me. This anime Pokémon page clearly does not meet the requirments to be given its own page, however reading the Manga section of the page and assuming you use simaliur guildlines, I think the page could be kept but as a part of progect manga. As the head of Progect Manga, this is completely up to you. :This is a tricky article as the character appears across several media (games, anime, manga). The Adventures section alone seems to qualify it as notable, plus it's backed by the Pokémon Battle Frontier, anime, and game information. As far as the governing project I would honestly have no idea, other cross-canon characters like Whitney's Miltank seem to be under Project Anime... honestly, I'd rather put it under Project CharacterDex if anything, since there's an idea floating around with the other staff to make CharacterDex cover characters as a whole, not just game characters (and Seviper is a game character anyway so yeah). Would articles for any of these be suitable: Emerald's Dusclops, Sudowoodo, Black's Brav, Costa, Platinum's Lopunny, the legendary beasts (at the very least Suicune and Raikou), and Silver's Rhyperior? I'd say no to Lopunny cause it wasn't in many battles... Rhyperior I'm leaning towards yes though. Pokemon Adventures volume 43

So...since it's confirmed that it'll start the Black & White arc, what should we do this page, plus any chapters put into volume format? Do we move them to their proper ordering...or make new articles altogether? Ataro (talk) 03:13, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

Way back when we made those articles in the first place we decided that ABW was a temporary epicode only and that the epicode numbers would be replaced with PSXXX once the rest of the chapters were caught up. So basically it was only so we could start making articles for them right away. So, yes, I'd like the page titles moved to the round numbers in order after HGSS chapter's and the content integrated as with the rest of the rounds. ABW01 is still the English translation of PSXXX and ABW02 is still the English translation of PSYYY, and so on, so it should be easy. We can just add that it was collected in volume 43, and so on, instead of B&W volume 1, and add a footnote/trivia/whatever indicating which English volume it was included in. Hope that all makes sense, let me know if you have any questions :D --ZestyCactus 03:38, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
Of course this is partly going on the assumption that they will be published in the same order once they reach graphic novel format in Japan. But we'll worry about that only if it ever happens for real haha. I don't see any point in making separate articles, just maybe redirects for now, since it is literally the same rounds anyway. --ZestyCactus 03:40, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

OK, this has been bugging me for ages

But, I can't take it anymore. Are these even real? I'm asking this because they sound made up. First of all, I have you-know-whats of the magazine releases, yet there's no sign of VS anything in any of the chapters. You know the one called "VS Deino?" It's not called that. It's called the B2W2 Prologue chapter. And that's all. Coronis is the one who sends those posts to Serebii, who even admitted he doesn't know much about it. Since Coronis makes up crap all the time, I think he made these titles up just to give them a title. It wouldn't be the first time he made stuff. Like nicknames, English names for characters that didn't have any at the time, etc. Ataro (talk) 03:53, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't really trust Coronis either considering he made up names for like a zillion characters and all that. I would 100% trust the documents you have over him, anyway. I'd be ready to revert the article on account of them being unconfirmed if you agree. At least until Volume 43 comes out in which case we should have a reference for the first couple rounds. (also another strike against those dubious names is the fact that nobody put them in the articles, such as ABW01) we could also ask Pokeant where he got the info from, it looks to me like he was the one who added it. --ZestyCactus 04:04, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
Asked, and they got em from Serebii. Ataro (talk) 05:45, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
Ok I think we should revert it then if the only source right now is Serebii. When is the volume due to be released anyway? --ZestyCactus 02:27, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
At the time of your post, I didn't know. But yesterday, it was revealed to be coming out on the 25th of January. Also, I was wondering if you could upload the chapter covers for ABW26-8. It's the only English volume I don't have. I've been making pages for the chapters that have been released in France, but since they don't have titles in either Japanese of English, I'm not sure what to name them....Ataro (talk) 19:10, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
So far what you've done with the new rounds articles is perfect. If you want to put titles in the opening paragraph, you can always follow my example from GDZ16 and onward (since for volume 2 I don't have the Japanese titles, I just used the French ones). For linking (like on character's pages) I would just link with the epicode alone for now. As for the Volume 8 chapters, yeah, I have it, I can scan them, no problem :) let me know if you have any other questions :D --ZestyCactus 19:20, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

Pokémon Pocket Monsters moves

This has been bugging me. In the Pokémon Pocket Monsters manga, only a few moves were seen in the manga so far. Do you know if any more have been discovered as it is hard to tell since most of the battles that happen end up containing the characters constantly performing punches and kicks? PattyMan 05:01, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

Sorry for the slow reply!! Yeah, I would only include moves that have been confirmed by name. I suppose it's a lot like Magical Pokémon Journey where there's a lot of Pokémon talking and hanging out, but not using a lot of confirmed moves. Hope that helps o_O --ZestyCactus 04:19, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
It does help but it will be hard since it is mostly in Japanese. No problem with the slow reply, at least it is better than nothing. PattyMan 05:12, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm at the same roadblock with the series, the Chuang Yi translation seems to be out of print and they never translated DP, HGSS, or BW yet anyway. All the volumes I've collected are in Japanese so there's a limit to what I'm able to figure out from them ^^' --ZestyCactus 05:17, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Ok then. PattyMan 05:32, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

Template question

Hi. I've been going through and adding in the Japanese titles and translations where they are lacking (and when they are available), but there is an inconsistency in previously completed pages. In the template, there are title_en, title_ja, and title_ro... And in some of the pages, the title_ro contains the romanized Japanese (which makes sense), but in others, it simply contains the translated Japanese again. The translated Japanese title is already present in the article in the leading line, so which is it? If it is supposed to contain the romanized Japanese, then many pages need to be redone. I can do them, but people need to stop adding a second translation there. I figured I'd get your final word on it, since it's your project. Mefredbob (talk) 10:03, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

My best guess is the inconsistencies are left over from when Transfinite did all the manga stuff, as they were particularly fond of using romanised Japanese all over the place. (for example, the actual article title for Walnut Tree was "Kurumi no Ki" until I moved it). Anyway, I would prefer the infoboxes translated, actually.. GDZ02 and PPP24 are good examples. Thanks for helping out with the translations :) let me know if you have any other questions/concerns/troubles/etc. --ZestyCactus 19:41, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

New User

Hello, I'm a new editor on Bulbapedia, and while I have significant experience editing on Wikia, I have none whatsoever here. While many aspects are the same, there are significant differences between the two. As a result, I'd first off like to apologize in advance if I mess something up (I don't plan on doing so, but hey we all start off new at some point). Second of all, my current goal is to add HD (game running in 1080 pixels) screenshots of Pokemon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness. One example is this screenshot of Verde. I will refrain from actually adding images to pages until I confirm with you that my images are suitable for Bulbapedia. Should this image (and any further images, since I'm going to continue uploads after this message) be satisfactory, I'd be more than happy to take any needed screenshots from the games. Sorry if this seems a little long-winded (and it probably sounds kinda formal too). Nairbnroh (talk) 10:55, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

PS: If you're not the person I should run this by, can you please direct me to him/her? I'm still new to the user right levels here, so I just followed the link given by the automatic welcome system. Nairbnroh (talk) 10:59, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

Ash and Pikachu

Hi. I was filling in the missing info for the Ash and Pikachu manga chapters, and then ran into a snag. As far as I can tell, http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/SP04 doesn't exist in Japan. There are only 5 chapters in the first volume, according to my sources. Though there are 6 chapters in later volumes, so I'm not really sure what the deal is. So if you see SP04 flagged as missing info, that is why. The info isn't readily available, like most of the more obscure manga titles. Mefredbob (talk) 17:21, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

That is so weird o_O i wonder how that ended up being, it seems weird that the creator would make one chapter exclusively for Singapore (I have the Singapore version of the first volume), so maybe it was a magazine chapter that got put in CY's volume? just wondering, does your source show numbers on the title pages (like how on my scan of SP04 it says Chapter 4 at the top) that might give us some more details. anyway, thank you for helping with the manga so far :) --ZestyCactus 02:53, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
My source is just a text listing of chapter titles, and it includes the chapter numbers. I never bothered hunting down scans because that sounds like a nightmare. It's possible it was an error, or maybe one chapter was split in half? I don't know.

And if you need translation help with the manga (or game or TCG) stuff, never hesitate to ask. I tend to lurk around daily, so I'd see it if you wrote on my talkpage. I'm fluent in both English and Japanese, so never hesitate to ask. I like to help where I can. Mefredbob (talk) 17:36, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

That is completely possible, maybe a chapter was split in half and we'll have no way of knowing (for now) since most of the information already on the wiki is based on the Singapore version (the person before me who started the articles also had the Singapore version). That kind of split has happened before with other manga, see Cloystered/Raging Rattata as an example. We'll leave it as is for now until we know for sure because moving everything now, then moving back later if it turns out it was originally split like that, could be a big hassle :S Anyway, thanks again for your help, I do have a few things on my list that could use translation, so I will be sure to let you know :) --ZestyCactus 18:14, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Poké Special Tournaments

Hi, please, I would like to know if you are against creating pages about the Kanto's Pokémon League(from Red and Blue) and current Unova League(from Black e White) and Gym Leaders Tournament all showed in Pokémon Adventures?--Hikaru Wazana 20:21, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

I am not totally against the idea...perhaps you could create the potential articles in your userspace first (like at User:Hikaru Wazana/Article name so I can review them before putting in the mainspace. I vaguely recall the details from the Kanto Pokémon League from the Red, Green & Blue arc, you could probably flesh out an article from that, maybe about like what kind of competitions are in it, what rounds it was featured in, how many battles are supposed to take place, what known past winners there were, including how any of the main/supporting characters that were featured placed (like, I think Green came in third or fourth place, right? It's been a long time since I read that chapter). I am not as familiar with the Gym Leaders Tournament since I've only read as far as like ABW13 (I have all the VIZ Media volumes but didn't read them all yet XD) but again if you created an article in the userspace we could see from there. --ZestyCactus 18:19, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Ok, I'm working on it on my PC for now, so you're more prepared I'll put. And the first Pokémon League in Kanto was small (two editions covered the league :P ), and yes you are right, Green (the girl) was fourth (actually, the only ones known competitors were Oak, Red, Blue and Green girl). About the Competition of the leaders was more elaborate and covered more issues (about ten if I'm not mistaken). The League of Unova is still early for work, but considering I'll take some time with the first two may be that she already has more information on it when everything is in order (if only because the only information we have so far are who 'll be in competition).--Hikaru Wazana 01:51, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Images

A question: what's your opinion on stuff like this? Personally, I think it's hideous and unless a bad quality image can be made even slightly presentable with editing, an image of that quality shouldn't be used at all. It just makes the article look bad. (I am about to replace it with a non-bad version, though. There are similar examples from the Zensho scans). Ataro (talk) 20:19, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Ew, that one was bad XD especially compared to your image, it looks kind of stretched? Like those weird mirrors lol? Anyway, I agree that if an image is so bad, it shouldn't be used at all. I'd rather have no image then a really bad one, it looks sloppy. For example, on CY's website there are cover images for EToP, but they are like 80x100px and soooo grainy that i refuse to use them on the wiki :P (I'll take a look at the Zensho scans then, I do have the manga so maybe I can replace them.) --ZestyCactus 17:30, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

BW Volume Question

Hey Zesty. Do BW volumes, (like Pokémon Black and White volume 10) get move protected or not? Most of them are unprotected, but like two of them are, so I was just wondering what the standard was. Thanks. --Pokemaster97 03:48, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Hmmmmmm I don't usually move-protect them unless there's a dispute with the title (and therefore it's move-protected to prevent vandalism, etc) like for example Electric Tale of Pikachu volume 1 and so on I believe are move-protected because we had some problems with people moving them. However it probably wouldn't hurt to move-protect them. It's just not really a big deal if they are or not, like I wouldn't spend hours going through and move-protecting them one by one just because xD (however episode/chapter/round epicodes always get move protected) so in short it doesn't really matter i think :P --ZestyCactus 03:52, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Question

When the manga HGSS saga ends, will the ABWXX Articles be moved to PSXXX? I've read somewhere that Black and White manga was released as a different series, so that's what generated my doubt.--Igor (talk) 21:08, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

It's currently being published by VIZ Media, who is taking the rounds directly from the magazine publication rather than wait for a collected volume to be released. Since we did not yet know the round numbering for all the HGSS rounds, we started the articles with placeholder titles as ABWXX. My intention is to move them once the Japanese release has caught up to these rounds (but maintaining the current information on VIZ Media's licensed release... and Kurokawa's French release.. a bit of a challenge but for me it's fun XD) hope that answers your question! --ZestyCactus 16:27, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Project Manga - ISBN Numbers

I'm going to start filling in the info for the Korean releases of Pokémon Special... however, I'm not sure what ISBN number I should use, and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere.

Can I use ANY ISBN number, so long as it's for that particular title and volume (regardless of what copy/printing it is), or should I use the FIRST ISBN number under that title?

For example, of all the printings of Pokémon Special volume 3 in Korean, there's the one that's on my copy (978-89-252-8625-9), and then there's the one which apparently is the first ISBN number used (978-89-252-3433-5). There's also at least one other (978-89-844-2538-5) as well. All three can be found on Korean book stores (like Kyobo).

Now I looked at where the ISBN links on Bulbapedia go, so I assume that ANY ISBN number would work, so long as the user can find *A* copy of it online, right? Thank you for your time! -- Nick15 (talk) 01:37, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

As long as it's a legitimate ISBN number for a licensed release, it's fine. Doesn't seem like it's something I need to be fussy about. I wasn't even aware the exact same edition in a different printing might have multiple ISBNs o__O probably even just whatever is on your own copy is fine - I always prefer first-hand information. --ZestyCactus 21:10, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
Ok, cool! Thanks for clearing that up! -- Nick15 (talk) 22:46, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Lucas character

Since you may have the Pocket Monsters DP manga, there is a character who is modeled off of Lucas. Do you know if he has a name other than Diamond? If he does, the article will be titled under the given name. PattyMan 05:28, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Ah, at first I was thinking we already had an article for this character, but I was thinking of Kazuki, who is based on Barry. If you're not sure, just make it at Diamond now I guess, since other characters like Ruby and Sapphire follow the same naming convention. You actually got me at bad luck - I have volumes from the classic series, RS, HGSS, and BW, but none from DP! So I don't know for sure at this time. ;___; --ZestyCactus 17:03, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
I am going for Diamond. PattyMan 18:20, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Sounds good, hopefully I will get one of the DP volumes soon to confirm it and get some scans *__* --ZestyCactus 05:47, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

Pokemon Special lead inconsistencies

I was just curious as to why the leads for the RBY chapters, the DPPt chapters, and the BW chapters were all different. I'm assuming the Chuang Yi titles for RBY are the same as the Japanese one, but it doesn't show the titles. The DPPt chapters (that are out) have it set up like "Viz title/Chuang Yi title", and the BW chapters are set up as "Chuang Yi title" or "Viz title (in the ViZ Media translation)". Is this just an inconsistency that needs to be fixed, or is like that for a reason? --It's Funktastic~!話してください 22:39, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

It's because the release of Pokémon Adventures in English has been complicated as hell. For the Red, Green & Blue arc and the Yellow arc, Chuang Yi's edition is actually a reprint of VIZ Media's first edition, so they share the same English titles. However, since VIZ Media stopped after volume 7 at first, volumes 8+ have been translated by Chuang Yi all by themselves. Beginning in August 2010, VIZ Media started doing volumes 8+, which is an original translation separate from Chuang Yi's. That's why you see the split in the title opening sentence for Gold, Silver & Crystal arc and Diamond & Pearl arc. Black & White arc is really complicated since it hasn't been released in volume format in Japan yet, (coming soon though) so we don't know all the titles for the rounds since the information we have is limited to what is known by those who can access the magazine version. However, since VIZ Media is publishing them in mini-volumes, often we have the VIZ Media title but not the Japanese title yet. (Chuang Yi is only as far as the Platinum arc and isn't doing BW chapter yet AFAIK). Considering that weird release schedule I find the formatting pretty consistent (or at least as good as it gets), I hope that explanation made any sense lol, let me know if you have any questions or concerns still ^^' --ZestyCactus 05:45, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
Nope, that explains things perfectly. Thanks! --It's Funktastic~!話してください 07:21, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

Giovanni's Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan

I noticed that Giovanni's Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan have played major roles throughout the Kanto arc in Pokémon Pocket Monsters, even their infoboxes are gigantic. Do you think it is time to give them articles? If yes, they should be merged to the page called Giovanni's Hitmons since every appearance minus their debut featured them together. Oh, and I believe they haven't used any moves confirmed by name so far, unless I'm mistaken. PattyMan 05:14, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

I looked sooo hard to find an example to show you of another article that features two Pokémon together and I couldn't find one XD but I swear on my life that Bulbapedia has had such articles before, and anyway, splitting off Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan to a separate shared article should be fine. Their infoboxes are huge haha. I would prefer something like "Giovanni's Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan" since I don't really like the article's title using a fan-ish term like "Hitmons" although you could create a redirect. --ZestyCactus 18:45, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
There is Brandon's Regirock, Registeel and Regice that were merged into one article and has Regis as fan name. I could go for Giovanni's Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan as the article name on your behalf then. PattyMan 19:15, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
YESSSS THAT'S THE ONE I WAS THINKING OF lol. Sounds good. I'll keep an eye out for it. --ZestyCactus 23:01, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
I just created the article. PattyMan 02:09, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
Blue's Blastoise and Red's Togepi are going to need them too for the same reason. However, Blastoise's cannot be created since the name is taken by a redirect of Blasty of Pokémon Adventures. PattyMan 03:59, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan article is perfect!! Great work :) Togepi's article does need to be created, is there a problem with it? D: for Blue's Blastoise we can just make it a disambiguation page. like "for Pokémon Adventures, see Blasty, for Pokémon Pocket Monsters, something like Blue's Blastoise (Pocket Monsters) should do. --ZestyCactus 16:50, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Can I add this unofficial external link?

I've been told to only add official sites to the external link section of articles, but I found a summary of the Mewtwo Strikes Back! manga adaption here and I've seen unofficial external links in articles that have little info, so I was wondering if this is an acceptable exception? --PokeAwesome94 (talk) 19:55, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't think it will hurt, especially since we don't have much information on the manga. --ZestyCactus 16:03, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

Ground rules

OK, we need to set some ground rules for Project manga stuff. Why? Because I am furious, and it's driving me crazy how many people are ignoring what I say. I am literally going to scream in rage if these keeps going on. Alright, here they are:

1) "If a Pokémon uses a move but it isn't called out or revealed later on, it shouldn't be added to the Move Manga template or anywhere else that involves the specific Pokémon. Under any circumstances." It really goes against our title as an "encyclopedia" if we just guess what a move is called. This isn't the anime, which has moves that are easily identifiable and repeatedly states what the moves are anyway. Manga? Still, non-moving, frozen black and white images.
2) "If you can't read Japanese, it'd be best to not touch anything from manga that haven't been released outside of Japan." I mean, if you don't can't even understand what's going on, why touch story-related stuff? I guess you can add stuff like Pokemon pictures or appearances, but if you can't understand, it shouldn't be touched. Potentially false information is no different than no information at all.
3) "No scanlation text." I think this speaks for itself. Not really something new, but should be said. Ataro (talk) 22:04, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
My thoughts..
  1. Fully back you up on this one. I have been asked about this before and I believe that under no circumstances should moves be added to a Pokémon or move's page unless it has been specifically named as such in the pages of the manga. I was asked this due to in Pokémon Pocket Monsters most of the moves not being called out. Too bad, I think unless it gets called out, it doesn't count, for the same logic you just mentioned.
  2. I'm fine with this as long as it's clear that the meaning behind the rule is to avoid adding false or misleading information. I personally understand very little Japanese but I still contribute by adding, as you mentioned, scans of title pages and Pokémon appearances. However, that's all I'll really do since I can't really understand the story - this is only for adding pictures to facts that are already on the wiki or to add images to chapter summary pages. I wouldn't add any synopsis or story summaries unless I was reading it in English or French, since otherwise, like you said, could potentially be false or mixed up since I don't understand the story. :P so yeah i would be okay with this rule as long as it was specific, since there are still limited contributions that can be made, as long as they're not attempting full story summaries or something like that.
  3. No complaints here. Makes total sense.
So yeah if you're good with this I'll go ahead and add it to the manga manual of style since as far as i'm concerned that's where all the manga rules should go. --ZestyCactus 22:31, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
I have this term I call determining by action which means that a move was added on here without any confirmation (term applies with both manga and anime). PattyMan 00:06, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
Ahem. Another suggestion I've been thinking of for a while. This guy has been annoying me for a few things. When volume 44 of Pokemon Adventures came out, he added the titles to the page without reading it. This can't be good. Info should only be added by someone if they actually saw the info themselves, right? While I don't think that the source he got them from isn't trustworthy (far from it), I don't like people touching things they haven't read. Maybe get a pic of the book's title as proof if you don't have it. The thing that really annoys me is that two of the titles he added were wrong (because they came from the titles Coronis made up), and he didn't even bother correcting this when he reverted my revert. So, I was suggesting "If you haven't read something, don't add info to it." Of course, if it's something minor, like English names or chapter titles, they can be added if the info is from a very trustworthy source, like Coronis or Dogasu. This is sort of similar to my "if you can't understand, don't touch it" suggestion from before. The reason I ask this is because of the Black and White releases and how complicated it's gonna be to move these chapters. Ataro (talk) 06:07, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
So, something like "do not add information unless you have confirmed it yourself from a primary source (a copy of the manga) or a trustworthy secondary source (such as Amazon for ISBN information, Dogasu for chapter/round names), etc? --ZestyCactus 02:56, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Obtained Pokemon in R/S Chapter

I'm going through the chapter pages and adding in that information, but I wanted to know whether or not Wally is important enough to have the Pokemon he obtains listed on the page. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 00:28, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

Hmmm I would lean towards no since he is not a Pokédex holder. --ZestyCactus 03:24, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

My First Wide RS chapter blah blah blah

Yeah, I was wondering what we should do about those since not a single one has come since...you know. Ataro (talk) 00:34, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

I found a little bit of information on that first and second one tucked away online, but it doesn't seem to be on Shogakukan's website anymore :S i'm not quite sure what you mean by "you know" though XD is there something else i should know? (you can email me if you prefer it not to be on my talk page, or i'm on AIM right now) --ZestyCactus 00:38, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
The Tohoku earthquake. Ataro (talk) 00:47, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
Ah, right. I'd be willing to take a guess that they aren't returning to that series...since the last one was released February 2011, right before the earthquake. I wouldn't add that to the pages since it's still speculation, but it's probably safe to say #2 is the last one for now. --ZestyCactus 01:28, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Symbols and Prints in Adventures

I was just wondering that should the Symbols Emerald obtains be included in the Emerald chapter page? And also the same for Platinum and Commemorative prints on Platinum chapter page? Արիանո 07:07, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

Oh yeah like how Sapphire's contests are listed in Ruby & Sapphire arc, right? Sure, go for it. I'd say it's notable since it's a major achievement by a Pokédex holder. --ZestyCactus 22:38, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
Added them and I also need to ask you something: I added the "evolutions" and "party additions" sections in the Platinum chapter page. Dia and Pearl obtained Rotom in PS430 but it joined Dia's team in PS441. Which one should be listed on the page as the chapter in which Rotom was received? Արիանո 13:00, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
Honestly you could do both. "Rotom joins the party" vs "Rotom joins Dia's team" on each round maybe? --ZestyCactus 02:09, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

PS465 vs. ABW05

Sorry to bother you, but I don't know how to do this. On the PS464 page, there is a redlink that says "Vs Galvantula," which links to a nonexistent page. The same manga chapter exists as a page under the name ABW05. This problem holds true for up through ABW11 as well. I'd fix it, but I can't figure out how to redirect them to the right page. AGGRON989 21:49, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

Ah, yes, we have been leaving them at ABXX until the volumes come out, then moving them. But Volume 44 just came out, right? All epicoded articles are move-protected, so that's why you couldn't do it. I'll take care of it, thanks for reminder. So Volume 44 is from ABW05 until ABW11 in the same order, yes? --ZestyCactus 22:36, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
I'm honestly not sure... I don't read the manga very much but it was a problem I noticed. I have no idea when Volume 44 came out. AGGRON989 22:38, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
It was released on March 28th :P I'll look into it and double check before I move, thanks again :) --ZestyCactus 22:39, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

Sorry for bothering again but I've got a question regarding rounds too (or rather, their naming): This page says that the name of the round is "VS Pansage & Pansear & Panpour I" but this page says it's "VS Audino". If possible, could you clarify which one it is and fix the naming problem. It would help with the disambiguation pages. I believe that the first name is from Serebii and thus this thing should be checked. Արիանո 10:41, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

I don't have Volume 44 yet but I have it ordered...I'll see if I can find out any sooner than that and I will update it if I can. --ZestyCactus 03:20, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Volume links

I feel like I ask you too many questions, but oh well. I noticed that sometimes there'll be a reference to a specific event in the manga on like a character's page, like for example, Yellow catching Caterpie, but instead of being linked to the specific chapter page, it's linked to the volume the chapter is in. Should links like that be changed? --It's Funktastic~!話してください 02:41, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

You mean something like this, right? The following Pokémon are obtained: Red's Nidorino in PS001. as seen on Volume 1 article.
That I think is following the original epicode linking style of Project Anime. Personally, I prefer chapters/rounds to be linked by title, A Glimpse of the Glow for example. So yeah, while it's not urgent to go through every volume's page and change it, it would conform to the overall style of other manga articles, so it would be okay to change. And don't worry about asking me all the manga questions - I am the Project Leader after all ^^' --ZestyCactus 02:52, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
I mean something like this where instead of showing the specific chapter something happens in, it just shows the volume number. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 03:04, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
So it's linking to the volume instead of the round? That is so ridiculous haha. Relink them immediately if you know the round number. @_@ --ZestyCactus 03:07, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

Kazuki vs. Pearl

Kazuki appears to fall in the same category as Isamu Akai and Kai Midorikawa in terms of naming. His other name is Pearl since his counterparts have the name and both of the examples mentioned above have their names on their pages as their video game counterparts. PattyMan 02:43, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

So, it's like "Hi, my name is Kazuki, but everybody calls me Pearl and I'm called Pearl 99% of the time in the manga"? If that's the case, like Isamu Akai and Kai Midorikawa, the page should be moved. --ZestyCactus 02:47, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
Okay. PattyMan 02:52, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

User Profile

Hi there. I've edited a couple of pages, but it still says I do not have permission on my user page/profile to edit it. Is there anything else I need to do? Thank you. --HJ13 (talk) 12:32, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi HJ13, before you can create a user page, you must become autoconfirmed. Becoming autoconfirmed is an automatic process by our wiki software: as mentioned at the top of my page, you must make a certain number of edits as well as having been a member of the wiki for a certain amount of time. As you continue to contribute to the wiki, you will find your account will become autoconfirmed. Thanks for your contributions so far! --ZestyCactus 17:27, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
Hello again. It still won't let me. How many edits do I need to make? Thank you for your understanding. :) --HJ13 (talk) 18:46, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
Sorry to bother you again. Could you answer please? Thank you. :) --HJ13 (talk) 21:46, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi HJ13, the exact number of edits required is a secret so I can't tell you, sorry. If you are looking for pages that need help, check out Stubs, Articles needing improvement and Articles needing more information. Hope that helps. --ZestyCactus 17:51, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
It is fine. Also, thank you. I'm able to edit my user page. Thank you for your help. :) --HJ13 (talk) 20:00, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Glad to hear everything worked out in the end. Thanks for your contributions. --ZestyCactus 02:27, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Akari

Where did you get Akari's actual gender from? I changed his gender from male to unknown because he was referred to as both a male and female in the actual manga, and I found it to be debatable. That also explains why the male pronouns were changed to it. PattyMan 04:35, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

Apart from the fact that it was decided forever ago to only refer to Akari with male pronouns, I think Wikipedia explains it best:
The precise definition for transgender remains in flux, but includes:
"Of, relating to, or designating a person whose identity does not conform unambiguously to conventional notions of male or female gender roles, but combines or moves between these."
"People who were assigned a sex, usually at birth and based on their genitals, but who feel that this is a false or incomplete description of themselves."
"Non-identification with, or non-presentation as, the sex (and assumed gender) one was assigned at birth."
In the How I Became a Pokémon Card manga, Akari was born female but self-identifies as male. He was presenting as male exclusively at school to all his friends until middle school when he was forced to wear a uniform with a skirt. Therefore, Akari is female-to-male transgender. Since he identifies as male in the manga, the article reflects that by using male pronouns. Also, "it" pronouns are offensive to the transgender community. --ZestyCactus 04:57, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
I see now that Akari is male. When something like that was made to be confusing, problems occur, kind of similar to who is the protagonist or antagonist of a story when both sides act the opposite of who they are. PattyMan 16:22, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

Innaproppriate content

Hey, I'm gay and all, but do things about gay rights and fanfiction sex stories really belong on a website where children are the mojority of the people who acess it? JolteonGuardian 03:40, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

"Fanfiction sex stories"? I have literally no idea what you're talking about. Can you provide examples of this content that you're objecting to? --ZestyCactus 03:45, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

Im sorry somehow I got you confused with kenji girl! JolteonGuardian 03:44, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

So, now that this is out...

What are we going to do about this? Volume 15 was really easy because Viz only removed one chapter and put into volume 14. Here? It's half the volume. Ataro (talk) 03:36, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

Hmm so we don't know what rounds yet, huh? I'd leave it on the Volume 43 article for now unless we learn any different. My guess is that they might add a few rounds from Volume 44 otherwise it's just a duplicate of Volume 1 with a new cover and probably that extra artwork like that page with N at the end of the volume and that panel they changed with Cheren and Bel, etc, but then it gets the rounds all mixed up cause then the second book is like what, half of 44 and half of 45? unless they just do the first four rounds -again- with that extra artwork and the extras from the back. maybe. agggh how could this get any more complicated than it already was!! *punches a wall*
Worst case scenario, we do something like Pokémon Black and White volume 1 (France), but I'd like to avoid that if we can. Sadly we'll probably have to wait for the volume's release so we can compare it to volume 43 and the mini volumes. unless you have a better idea :/ --ZestyCactus 17:47, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

PBK character names

In the Pocket Monsters Platinum: Aim to Be Battle King!! manga (very long name), I only found and Shin as known characters. There are several other characters who end up being the ones that I can't tell their names. Do you know the names of those characters (if you have the manga)? PattyMan 03:58, 25 April 2013 (UTC)

I don't have that manga at this time, sorry :( --ZestyCactus 15:29, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

I'd like to just bring something to your attention for a moment

Okay, so there has been a new user going through the list of all redirects and "fixing" every single one alphabetically. The fix hasn't actually been looking at why the redirect may be used instead of the actual page name, and instead just replacing every single redirect simply because it is being used. I've already been hit with this situation because I have a few card pages beginning with punctuation marks, but this user has just made it to the pages beginning with A, which for your purposes are ABW01, ABW02, and so on. (You can see their contributions here.) I was just concerned about all of the ABW epicode changes to PS, because I honestly thought that if you wanted it done, it would have been done in February when the pages started getting moved. It also just seemed inappropriate to me for pages on the English releases of the manga using the Japanese epicode in favor over the English epicodes. (And especially awkward, as now this page says "Rounds included PS471 - ABW13", which makes absolutely zero sense.) If you would prefer all the links everywhere to be the Japanese PS links, then ignore my message here. I just wanted to bring this to your attention because it does seem like an issue to me. MaverickNate 13:25, 25 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi Nate, thanks for your message. The ABWXX epicode was only intended for use on a temporary basis, as the rounds had not yet been published in volume format in Japan yet we wanted to create articles for them. Due to the complexity of Adventures's current release in Japan, we didn't know how many rounds the HeartGold & SoulSilver arc would be since it was stopped in magazines and that story was finished only in volume format. So we couldn't start Black & White arc articles at PSXXX since we didn't know what number HGSS would stop at until the volumes came out. As the volumes are released, my goal is to transition all the ABWXX epicodes to PSXXX epicodes once we can confirm their sequence in Japan. I don't want to move the rest yet as we don't yet know if they will be compiled in a different sequence in the Japanese volumes (remember, Adventures is serialised in two or three different magazines, so it's confusing as all hell) so while pages like Volume 4 look a little odd now it will eventually straighten itself out. So for articles like Volume 1 and the respective rounds, which have all been moved, I'd like them linked to the Japanese round number but they'll still be listed on the volume page in the order they appeared as "Adventure 1" "Adventure 2" etc. Like how Electric Tale of Pikachu issue 2 is really ET03, it's still shown like that as it was the way it was released. Or like The Best of Pokémon Adventures: Red or Mysterious Mew and the like. Anyway, thanks for your concern, I'll keep an eye out for this and try to make it as least confusing as possible ^^' --ZestyCactus 20:43, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

Pokémon Adventures Vol. 15

I had an earlier idea that right next to that information I added about the cover art being different in the VIZ release that the picture of Pryce from the original back cover should be added just to show people what the original design of the back cover from Volume 15 looked like. Do you think this should be added? -Tyler53841 (talk) 03:40, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Hmm considering the differences between the two covers, normally back cover artwork isn't needed, but that would be cool to aid understanding of the trivia. You can go ahead and add it :) sorry for my slow reply!! --ZestyCactus 16:40, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
I forgot which version of Pryce artwork it is the one with or without the mask. -Tyler53841 (talk) 03:19, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
Just confirmed from one of the sites I go to that the original design has both the Mask of Ice and Swinub in it. If you can upload the picture I was thinking of placing it inside a template and name that template spoiler warning given the nature to avoid spoiling Pryce's secret. -Tyler53841 (talk) 12:34, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
Oh ya true since in the picture he's holding the mask and everything so ...spoilers! hrrrrm maybe we if we still want to include it, we should put it under one of those show/hide dealies with a spolier tag. either way :V damn spoilers haha, imagine if you randomly picked up that book and read the back cover before buying it? brutal :V even i read a killer spoiler on here by mistake for a different character since i was editing the section directly beneath it :( --ZestyCactus 04:20, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
That should work. Since I am not a picture uploader (nor have I been on any wiki I've worked with) I will need your help with that picture. If it were under normal circumstances than I would have been able to do it by myself. My idea for the picture caption is "Original back cover design". -Tyler53841 (talk) 15:21, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Help!!

I need to upload the pictures on bulbapedia, can you help me find a way to upload pictures? - unsigned comment from Fuwanati (talkcontribs)

Hi Fuwanati, all images used in Bulbapedia and Bulbanews are uploaded to Bulbagarden Archives. Hope that helps :) --ZestyCactus 16:41, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

*Ahem*

So, what are we going to do about this? We can't assume it'll be put in volumes because there was a chapter that almost didn't make it. Since it's apparently a flashback to Red's training on Mt. Silver, it can take place anywhere. We can always move it to PSWhatever if it does get put into the volumes, but what kind of Epicode should I use? PSs? (You know, like this). Ataro (talk) 00:20, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

Yeah I would create it at PSs1 for now. I definitely don't think it should be at PSXXX unless it gets released as part of a volume, in which case we can move it then. The "side story" epicode works well as any future rounds like this can fall under the same epicode, like SS01 and on for the anime. --ZestyCactus 00:29, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
And made. But since I don't know the names of those comedians Dia and Pearl like, I had to use their Chuang Yi names. If you could, can you add their names in the trivia section? Thanks. Ataro (talk) 13:53, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Character articles

If a character who appeared in every chapter of a long running manga, for example Red, should the important stuff only get listed in their articles as content? I think Pokémon Pocket Monsters is the only long running manga to feature a character or two in every chapter. PattyMan 05:39, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

I am currently rewriting PM manga's Red's article off the site and doing it without the, in (chapter names). Kind of like the way the other guy's article is written. PattyMan 02:39, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
Sounds like a good plan. With a major character in a big manga like Pokémon Pocket Monsters, only really need to list major acheivements or character developments as there is already lots to say. The "other" Red is a good example, as Adventures is of comparable length. --ZestyCactus 02:42, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
I didn't want the article to be super humungous which was why I was asking. PattyMan 02:48, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Name changes

I'm thinking of adding the two Unown Diamond and Pearl befriended with in Adventures to their pages. But there is a problem and so the question I need someone to answer to is this: What is the site's policy when a name changes in the middle of translation? The two Unown were named Mr. Relaxed (D) and Mr. Hasty (P) in the second VIZ volume but in the newest volume they're called Flaky and Grumpy, respectively. Both should be mentioned but which names are the main ones? Արիանո 11:57, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Generally when an official name is changed, the policy leans toward the most recent appearance: see Bell Tower, Ethan and Vincent, for example. Considering they are minor characters, it could be confusing, but go with Flaky/Grumpy for now I suppose. (Be sure to mention the Relaxed/Hasty names in the description though) I haven't got the new volume yet ;__; if they make any future appearance or mention, we'll go with that for the sake of consistency, but for now we'll go with the most recent. --ZestyCactus 03:02, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
Okay, thanks! Արիանո 05:06, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
But what do we do with this page's "major events" section? There are five names in total used in the English translations for these two Pokémon and using the new names could cause confusion among VIZ readers reading the article (although, so does the initial name change in the volumes)... Արիանո 11:11, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
Forget that, it just hit me... Sorry for leaving a message without thinking first. Y<Y' Արիանո 11:50, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

Volume 18 cover

I can't edit the picture file you created for some reason so can you replace the current picture with this one? Arceus101 (talk) 00:39, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

nvm I fixed it Arceus101 (talk) 01:29, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
Hey since you're an admin as well as the head of Project Walkthroughs, are you able to make it so that the Volume 18 page has the cover that I put up a while ago instead of the book form? I replaced the book form image on Bulbapedia Archives with the cover image, but it's still not appearing on the Volume 18 page. Is this just something that we have to wait out? Arceus101 (talk) 20:11, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
It's a server-related thing, most of the Archives is on different servers so sometimes it can take a couple hours to sync up. If the problem persists, you can purge your temporary internet files, sometimes that helps, or do a "soft" edit (edit and save page without doing anything). Hope it works out, thanks for the file upload~ --ZestyCactus 00:09, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Manga Pokemon debuts

Just making sure, but when a Pokemon should be listed under debuts when the Pokemon physically appears in a chapter, even if it isn't owned by a character or it's not the main focus of a chapter (for example, Gold runs through a forest, and there are a bunch of Pokemon shown that haven't been shown in chapters before). Just wondering because I wanted to fix up debuts on manga pages, but I wanted to make sure I had it right. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 04:10, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Funktastic, you got it, as long as the Pokémon physically appeared it can count in debuts :) --ZestyCactus 00:09, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
Ok! And just something else I noticed. On some pages Debuts has its own heading, while in other pages it's a subheading of Major Events. Which one is correct? --It's Funktastic~!話してください 00:36, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
Hello again, "Debuts" should be a separate heading, with "Pokémon debuts" a subheading of that. "Major events" is mostly for story advancements and the like. --ZestyCactus 02:36, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
Hey Zesty, just double checking what you meant here, did you mean that Debuts should start as a level two heading, and then Pokémon Debuts as a level three heading, as seen in PS004 or Debut as level 3 and Pokémon Debut as a level 4 as seen in BW001. I only ask since the example as seen in the episodes seem to be the standard and I'd hate for someones work to be all for naught. --Spriteit (talk) 04:35, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
For manga pages I do prefer it as a level two then Pokémon debuts as a level three. Therefore PS004 would be correct. --ZestyCactus 17:09, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

New

Hello, I am new to Bulbapedia (well, I've been using Bulbapedia for years, but I'm new to editing and the like), so sorry if this is the wrong place. I saw that you made a discussion page for me, so thanks! But I would like to get a user page. Now, I read in the FAQ that I need to edit the mainspace enough to get a user page, but do you know around how much I need to edit it? Also, it says you can get banned from editing your user page if you edit it too much, but does it count if you make an edit, and then you just make a little edit to fix a spelling mistake or rephrase a sentence? And finally, I know this seems like a dumb question, but do you know how to make tildes on a British English keyboard? I tried looking it up in the past but with no luck. I'll just use copy and paste for now. Thanks, Amitai (talk) 17:17, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Dear Amitai, to create your userpage you must first become autoconfirmed. Becoming autoconfirmed is an automatic process by Bulbapedia's software based on a minimum number of edits to the mainspace (any page that doesn't begin in User:, User talk:, Talk: and other such prefixes) as well as a minimum tenure (length of time since you created your account). The specific requirements are a secret I cannot share with anyone, sorry. If you are looking for pages that need help, check out the Editor's Hub as well as Stubs, Articles needing improvement and Articles needing more information. There's lots of stuff to do here so I'm sure you'll find something! As for userspace limits, as you may have seen in the Userspace policy, the limit to the number of user page edits you make per day is somewhat proportionate to the number of mainspace edits per day (check that link for more details). As a general idea, though, it's wise to preview your edits before saving to try and catch any mistakes beforehand, as multiple edits to any page causes extra stresses to our servers. You can do this by the "show preview" button right next to "Save page" or doing Alt+Shift+P on a Windows computer. Finally, unfortunately I don't know how to do tildes on a UK keyboard, as I live in Canada and I think ours are the same as in the US. :( what I recommend rather than copying and paste is you may notice above the editing window (where you add text in a page) there is a button "button_sig.png", clicking this will automatically add four tildes to the page. Hope this helps! --ZestyCactus 01:18, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Delete

OK, I know that you are not supposed to notify an admin if there are pages to be deleted. However, there are a lot of pages to be deleted, and some of them have been there for a while. Spyspotter says… Edit the mainspace, kids! 01:33, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll get on em. --ZestyCactus 01:34, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Ryūko

I will need some assistance with this, if you have the chance. By the way, when you upload the image of the character, I won't care if ū or uu is used in the file name. PattyMan 17:30, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Sure, I will get around to it in the next few days. I understand special characters in file names cause problems on the archives so I will probably stick with "Ryuuko.png" and so on. --ZestyCactus 01:41, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
Ok. PattyMan 01:47, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey, Thanks for the tips! I'll keep these things in mind the next time I edit the mainspace. I am hoping I will be able to write more about glitches when I get a Pokemon Yellow cartridge (it's easier to use than an emulator, in my opinion). Cheers, Amitai (talk) 19:48, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

New manga chapters

Do you think you could start hiding the (Japanese: ) in the opening line of any new manga chapters you create without the names? It would really help when getting the titles on the page. MaverickNate 04:49, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Makes sense. Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep that in mind for the future. --ZestyCactus 18:17, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

ANN Article

Here is a small article from Anime News Network (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-06-22/pokemon/black-and-white-manga-ends-but-more-is-coming) which confirms the Black and White Chapter of Pokémon Adventures is ending in Japan soon along with some other useful information regarding of when they'll preview the following chapter for the Pokémon Adventures series that will succeed Black and White. -Tyler53841 (talk) 02:54, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Excuse me, Zesty, but I need to clarify something. It isn't ending, it ended, and we've known it was going to end since last month. And they aren't previewing the following chapter, they're previewing the last chapter that just came out. Ataro (talk) 03:22, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Volume 44

Since, unlike some people, you actually have the volume, would you mind adding the missing titles and subtitles for Pokemon Adventures volume 44 plus some chapter covers? Ataro (talk) 03:39, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Ataro, I can confirm the titles no prob. The subtitles will be hard for me to add on my own since I don't know much Japanese (and they're in kanji. there is hiragana above the kanji which i can take a stab at but i am a n00b haha and we should probably have the kanji anyway, since that's how it was done for volume 43) ~alternatively~ i can scan the subtitles if we have someone else who can translate them better. I can do chapter cover scans, but what would you like compared to what we have from the magazine version? you've probably seen the volume title pages, it's just this silhouette of Zekrom and Reshiram and it's like "THE TENTH CHAPTER" and looks the same on every round. u_u i usually prefer the title pages (like in ET01 and like every other manga page I ever did) but that's boooring if we use these ones haha. so would you like the VIZ magazine version scans replaced with idk the first page after the title page? or what. i dunno. i don't mind doing scans though :D --ZestyCactus 14:47, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Also when the VIZ Media volume 43 comes out next week. I think we should redo the opening sentence how the titles are laid out. it is messy as hell and confusing :S but since the book comes next week (I should be getting it next Wednesday) we'll wait til it's out to see if those titles are different again before we redo them, but just saying. --ZestyCactus 14:47, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Yes, scanning the subtitles would be nice. I'm sort of good enough to be able to translate the kanji. That, or you could ask Chao for it. As for the chapter covers, yeah, a panel from the first page would be nice instead of the Reshiram/Zekrom thing. Next week? Wow, almost forgot. Gonna be a problem with three different titles clogging up the space. Ataro (talk) 14:59, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Ok, great. I will just finish the titles for now since I will have to go to work soon. When I'm home tonight, I'll do the scans. I'm hoping they will use the same titles as their translation of the magazine version since that will be the least messy. Or VS XXX but that seems unlikely. But you never know u_u --ZestyCactus 15:06, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Volume 45

Hey can you move the chapters from ABW12 to ABW19 to volume version? There are the chapters included in the recently released Volume 45. Thanks! Arceus101 (talk) 01:03, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Oh almost forgot, can you also move the BW chapters from Volume 43 back to their Viz titles? In the Viz version of Volume 43, the titles for the chapters are the same as the previous chapters from the Viz mini-volumes. Thanks! Arceus101 (talk) 01:08, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
I'll move the rounds now, I'll wait til the VIZ Media volume is officially out on Tuesday to switch those titles over. Good to know though thanks. --ZestyCactus 23:34, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
Thank you! ^_^ Arceus101 (talk) 23:40, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
Speaking of which, can I go through and fix all the links now for these now? You said not to fix the links when you moved them. --Spriteit (talk) 02:42, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
Ya you can re-link them now. I think I was waiting til the volume was officially released. --ZestyCactus 03:35, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
Coolio, I wasn't sure if that's all you were waiting for so didn't wanna touch them, but I'll get on it. --Spriteit (talk) 03:40, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Black 2 & White 2 page

Hey, sorry for the double-post (actually I'm not even sure if I should be apologizing for that since this isn't a forum) but do you think it's a good idea to create a Black 2 & White 2 page at this point? Imo, I think it should have been created months ago when the prologue came out (wait, why isn't there a page for that round, there's a page for the Red chapter rounds) since there was the B2W2 logo on there. At this point it's pretty much confirmed that the B2W2 chapter is real with the preview of the first non-prologue round but idk I don't feel comfortable creating a new page for B2W2 by myself and without your approval. Someone added a B2W2 section on the chapter listings section on the main page of Pokémon Adventures which I think should belong there and should stay at this point. Also, on the Black & White chapter page, I've been trying to edit the "followed by" section since a while ago but even on preview it just says "Unannounced". Does someone need to create a page for the follow-up chapter before it can be edited?

Oh and one more thing. Someone should probably create a page for the manga versions of Nate and Rosa (their names are Rakutsu and Fites which pretty much means Black2 and White2 with some reversions) and create a separate page for manga Hugh. I would but I'm not even sure what to call the article since no one "official" confirmed the English translations of their names and I don't want to get my head chopped off. Just thought I'd run this by you. Thanks! Arceus101 (talk) 01:36, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

I have no idea why the prologue round wasn't made an article. It should be. Maybe because it's undecided what the round numbering will be? It'll probably be put in a volume once the BW chapter catches up do you think? For B2W2 and the new characters, you could create articles in the userspace for now (doesn't count against usual userspace limits) and we can move it when ready. I'll give you a more proper answer on those within a few days, I've been busy with work and I can barely think straight @_@ --ZestyCactus 23:34, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
I never made a page for it because unlike the Mt.
Ah, that's what I figured, if it's likely to go in a volume then it'll get numbered once those other rounds are volume-ified and created then. I don't think that we need (Adventures) at the end if the name is so unlikely to be shared. Otherwise we'd have like "Blasty (Adventures)" instead of just "Blasty", right? --ZestyCactus 17:40, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Timeline of events

Hey Zesty, I was wondering if it would be reasonable to create an article of a timeline of events in Pokémon Adventures (and possibly other long-running manga like Pokémon REBURST) especially since there's a lot to look through and it might be easier for readers to see everything in one whole page. ht14 20:44, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Like Timeline of events in the anime? Seems perfectly reasonable to me. Some other longer series like Pokémon Pocket Monsters and Magical Pokémon Journey would be good too. --ZestyCactus 23:34, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
Sweet, thanks. I'll propose a project those that are interested since all of them are so long and filled with details... ht14 03:40, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Someone already made a timeline for Pokemon Adventures on Serebiiforums.com. Here I'll post the link so that you can have a reference to help you out. http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?599406-Pokemon-Adventures-Timeline Arceus101 (talk) 00:03, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the link but I'd prefer not to use any content sourced from Serebii (even if it's the forums). Most of the info is around the wiki so we can all collaborate and write it from scratch :) --ZestyCactus 02:51, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
Here is what I have so far... so much material... if something simpler is preferred (similar to that of Serebii's) and only important events (e.g. capturing, evolving, releasing, Gym Leader/Coordinator accomplishments and not meeting characters), then I think I could work that out as well. As it stands, this might be even more material than the anime would cover, and especially since there is different focus on different characters? I'm not sure, you're the boss on this. =) ht14 04:13, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
Doesn't really need to be any simpler...looks good so far!! Maybe we should mainspace it so that it can attract more attention...? Anyway, I really like the "look" of it. Great job ^o^ --ZestyCactus 04:40, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
Haha, thanks so much. =) Been c-ving from the major events of each round with some rewording, haha. Time needs to be checked for some... might be a few months in between chapters instead of a year... I was only estimating based on the years provided... if you'd prefer it to be mainspaced, I'm down for it. I'm giving the ok to move it. =D ht14 04:43, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
At the moment, do you think it's safe to presume that DP takes place three years after HGSS and that BW takes place three years after Platinum?

Also, considering we have this article already, would it be redundant if I were to have all that information again or should I instead use the main template? ht14 01:37, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

I would double-check with Ataro for the special rounds since he is more familiar with them... as far as I know they take place sometime after the Gold, Silver & Crystal arc. --ZestyCactus 18:06, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Alright thanks Zesty. Arceus101 (talk) 23:08, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

That stupid template.

There is Black 2 color and White 2 color - I would've made them without a space if it was me, but eh, there they are. That template is a pain in the butt. u_u I can try to figure it out later tonight or maybe ask Werd if he can help again. --ZestyCactus 18:42, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
As far as Black 2/White 2 colours being programmed to the template, I have no idea o_O it seems like it breaks every time there is a new chapter haha. --ZestyCactus 18:43, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Important events, evolutions, badges obtained, etc. etc. for recent volumes

I can try to make time to go through the volumes again to locate the key points if you want me to. Arceus101 (talk) 20:36, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

I will do it eventually. It really needs to be done. It's a little low on my priorities list but I'll get to it eventually if nobody else does XD --ZestyCactus 01:51, 5 July 2013 (UTC)

The owner of the Amoonguss

Hmm. --ZestyCactus 18:01, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Okay, thanks Zesty! I corrected it! Arceus101 (talk) 20:10, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Lucy's Seviper

This anime Pokémon page clearly does not meet the requirments to be given its own page, however reading the Manga section of the page and assuming you use simaliur guildlines, I think the page could be kept but as a part of progect manga. As the head of Progect Manga, this is completely up to you. Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 14:39, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

This is a tricky article as the character appears across several media (games, anime, manga). --ZestyCactus 18:10, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Pokémon Infobox

Would articles for any of these be suitable: Emerald's Dusclops, Sudowoodo, Black's Brav, Costa*, Platinum's Lopunny, the legendary beasts (at the very least Suicune and Raikou), and Silver's Rhyperior? I do have arguments for each* Pokémon listed if you're curious. ht14 02:22, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Brav should get an article for sure I think. Dusclops and Sudowoodo is your call since I'm not too familiar with the Emerald arc. Costa I'm leaning towards "no" for now. I'd say no to Lopunny cause it wasn't in many battles... Rhyperior I'm leaning towards yes though. For the legendary beasts, I'd say it's probably notable for a combination article (something like Legendary beasts (Adventures)). Sorry for the slow reply, hope that helps :D --ZestyCactus 21:05, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

Template:User 500 Day

I have a question about the template, is it 500 edits total, or 500 mainspace edits? Also, do I have enough edits to be able to use this? Thanks. — Reshi643 03:34, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Well, for the server day of July 17, you had more than 500 mainspace edits anyway, so go ahead and add it to your page ^o^ --ZestyCactus 03:39, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Xerneas Sprite

Hello there. I came across a few websites and found an official Xerneas sprite for X and Y: Xerneas_Sprite.png However, I'm not sure if it is the actual sprite, and also not sure how to upload it onto this website. Should we consider adding it to Xerneas' page? Thanks! --HJ13 (talk) 20:04, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

If you want to upload a picture, here is the link to do so, though I would get the picture from a better source than Wikia. — Reshi643 20:29, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
I would recommend confirming that it is indeed the official sprite before uploading it - I don't personally know yet, sorry! Also, as Reshi643 mentioned, try to avoid relying on Wikia as a source ^^' --ZestyCactus 20:31, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
