The Diamond & Pearl arc (Japanese: ダイヤモンド・パール編 Diamond & Pearl arc), also referred to as The Seventh Chapter (Japanese: 第七章 The Seventh Chapter), is the seventh story arc of the Pokémon Adventures manga, consisting of nine volumes. It is the third longest completed arc of the series. In North America, this arc is grouped with the Platinum arc as the eleven-volume Pokémon Adventures Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, as Pokémon Platinum Version had been released internationally by the time these two arcs were released internationally. It began serialization in November 2006, and ended in February 2010.
The arc follows the adventures of Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Platinum, the daughter of the wealthy Berlitz family, sets out to fulfill a family tradition of assembling a copy of her family's crest for herself at the summit of Mount Coronet. However, a misunderstanding causes her bodyguards to be switched up with Diamond and Pearl, an aspiring manzai comedy duo, and together, they set off on a journey through Sinnoh. During their travels, Platinum becomes interested in Pokémon battles and sets out to defeat all of Sinnoh's Gym Leaders. The trio's journey is hindered by the actions of Team Galactic, an evil organization with a plan that does not tolerate the young children getting in their way.
