Battlefield

Hammerlocke Stadium (Japanese: ナックルスタジアム Knuckle Stadium) is the official Stadium of Hammerlocke. The Gym specializes in Dragon-type Pokémon, and its Trainers and Leader ultilize weather conditions. During the Gym Challenge, Gym Challengers battle the Gym Leader Raihan to earn the Dragon Badge.

In the games

Hammerlocke Stadium is the largest building in the city and is the site at which the eighth installment in the Galar region's Gym Challenge takes place. It is located in the central part of the city, past the center Pokémon Center.

In addition to the standard Poké Mart and uniform shop, Hammerlocke Stadium's lobby also has an elevator to Macro Cosmos's underground Energy Plant, which provides access to the Tower Summit at the top of the stadium, where the player battles Eternatus during the climax of Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Gym Challenge

Raihan & Duraludon

In the anime

Hammerlocke Stadium was first mentioned, although not by name, in Flash of the Titans!, where Lance revealed he had once trained there. He had also been impressed by the Gym's uniform and its rich history, and had thus decided to use it as the basis of his own current outfit.

The Gym was mentioned again in Toughing It Out! as Raihan made his anime debut.

The stadium made its first appearance in Sword and Shield: The Darkest Day!, where Leon stood in front of it while intending to investigate Chairman Rose's actions at the Energy Plant. In the next episode, Eternatus emerged from the Energy Plant core and into the Hammerlocke Stadium battlefield, where the audience safety barrier hindered its escape attempt. Ash and Leon met each other at the battlefield, where Rose appeared before them and urged Leon to catch Eternatus as it broke through the barrier and escaped to the top of the stadium to absorb Galar particles, while engaging Ash in a Double Battle himself to keep him from interfering. Meanwhile, at the stadium entrance, Goh rushed in to help, only to be confronted and challenged by Oleana.

The two battles resumed in Sword and Shield... The Legends Awaken!, with both Ash and Goh eventually emerging victorious after Riolu and Raboot evolved into Lucario and Cinderace, respectively. Both of them subsequently headed to the top of the stadium to help Leon.

The stadium reappeared in Catching the Aura of Fate!, where Raihan greeted some of his fans in front of it, following the announcement of the World Coronation Series battle between him and Ash. Once he had gone back inside, he started training, knowing that losing the battle would mean losing his chance to get to battle Leon in the current season of the competition. The battle took place in the next episode, with Ash ultimately winning and gaining himself a spot in the Master Class.

Despite its powerful Max Moves, Duraludon was defeated by Lucario's giant Aura Sphere.

Duraludon's known moves are Metal Claw, Iron Defense, Stone Edge, Steel Beam, and Breaking Swipe.
As a Gigantamax Duraludon, it can use Max Rockfall, Max Steelspike, and G-Max Depletion.

Sword & Shield arc

Hammerlocke Stadium first briefly appeared in Thump!! The Gazing Sage, where Casey pointed it out to Marvin as Professor Magnolia's car approached Hammerlocke.

In Rising!! Opal of Ballonlea, Bede visited the stadium's lobby to receive a letter sent to him by Opal. Immediately afterwards, the whole city was shaken by a powerful quake originating from the Energy Plant. In Stealth!! Infiltrate the Energy Plant, Raihan sneaked into the Energy Plant to investigate, being quickly found out by Chairman Rose and Oleana. They explained the quake away as a failed experiment, although Raihan didn't buy the explanation.

In Rumble!! The Horrific Darkest Day, following Chairman Rose starting the Darkest Day, Eternatus appeared over Hammerlocke Stadium, perching itself on top of its tallest tower. Later, Henry, Casey, most of Galar's Gym Leaders, Hop, Bede, Marnie, Leon, and Sonia pursued Sordward and Shielbert to the Energy Plant.
