The Genesect Army (Japanese: ゲノセクト一軍 Genesect Army) is a team composed by five Genesect; four normal colored and one Shiny, who leads them. The Shiny Genesect is known as "Red Genesect" (Japanese: 赤いゲノセクト)
History
An image of a Genesect was seen by N on a computer monitor in the ruins of the P2 Laboratory in The Name's N!.
In Team Plasma's Pokémon Manipulation!, the Genesect Army was mentioned only as "Project G", and its current whereabouts were considered unknown by the Plasma Grunt reporting to Ghetsis.
In Meowth, Colress and Team Rivalry!, N visited a ruined building, where he found a Patrat and Watchog. When he heard their voices, he experienced a flashback in which he realized the Genesect Army had destroyed the building before flying away.
The Genesect Army is set to have a starring role in M16. In the film, they will appear in New York City and battle against Mewtwo. Sometime prior to the events of the anime and movie, the Genesect Army escaped from Team Plasma and attempted to return to their homeland. However, due to their poor vision and confusion over their location, they are unable to distinguish tall structures and objects from the stone pillars of their homeland, leading to their attack on New York City.
