Sprites
Trivia
- Elekid's shiny and normal sprites are reversed starting from Generation III.
- Elekid's Crystal sprite is a mirror image of its Gold sprite, except with a minor alteration to eye placement.
- Elekid's Pokédex entries between Generations III and IV are contradictory on whether Elekid can store electrical energy in its body.
- Nintendo was concerned about making Elekid toys because children might put the prongs into a power outlet, which could electrocute the child.
- Although it has no visible tail, Elekid can learn Iron Tail.
Origin
Elekid is based on U.S. and Japanese domestic AC power plugs.
Name origin
Elekid's name is a combination of electricity and kid.
