Name origin
Détourner is a French verb (infinitive mode, present tense) that means "to divert", "to reroute", "to redirect", "to change course". The prefix dé- modifies the meaning of the verb tourner (meaning "to turn") to give it the antonymous meaning; therefore, détourner means "to turn in the other direction than the one that was planned".[1] It possible the route was named this because, the first time that the player can enter this route, they are denied access to Victory Road and so must turn around.
