Horn Drill (Japanese: つのドリル Horn Drill) is a very inaccurate Template:Type2 one-hit knockout move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation I

Horn Drill does damage equal to the opponent's current HP. Horn Drill will break a Substitute on contact, and can be countered for infinite damage if and when it breaks a Substitute.

Horn Drill will not affect an opponent whose current Speed is greater than the user's current Speed.

Generation II and on

Unlike in Generation I, Horn Drill can affect a Pokémon whose Speed is greater than the user's current Speed. However, it cannot affect a Pokémon of a higher level. Horn Drill can be Countered for infinite damage if it misses in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. However, this does not apply to Pokémon Stadium 2.

In the anime

Pokémon

Seaking. Seaking's horn quickly spins around. Seaking then rams its spinning horn into its opponent.

Rhydon. Same as above.
