Lental (Japanese: レンティル地方 Lentil-chihō) is the name of the region that serves as the setting for New Pokémon Snap. It is an archipelago with various ecosystems such as beaches, jungles, and deserts.

History

The presence of ancient ruins on all the islands indicates that the region had been inhabited by humans for a very long time. 2000 years ago, the region was threatened by a meteor strike, but it was saved by the Illumina Pokémon creating a barrier over the region. 100 years prior to the game, a man named Captain Vince explored most of the islands and recorded the species of Pokémon he found, including some of the Illumina Pokémon.

Geography

Lental is an archipelago made up of four main islands, and many smaller islands. Each of these islands have differing climates which house varied ecosystems for various Pokémon species.
