Aromatherapy (Japanese: アロマセラピー Aromatherapy) is a non-damaging Grass-type move introduced in Generation III.

Effect

Aromatherapy cures the user, all Pokémon in the user's party, and the user's allies, of all status conditions (sleep, poison, paralysis, freeze, and burn).

Generations III and IV

Aromatherapy affects Pokémon even if they are behind a substitute.

Generation V

Aromatherapy now lists Pokémon that are healed.

Aromatherapy does not activate Sap Sipper.

Generation VI-VIII

Aromatherapy will now trigger Sap Sipper on an ally. Aromatherapy cannot affect allies behind a substitute, but still affects the user even if it is behind a substitute.

If powered up by a Grassium Z it turns into Z-Aromatherapy, which fully restores the user's HP.

Generation IX

Aromatherapy cannot be selected in a battle.

Trivia

  • Prior to Version 1.2.0, despite Aromatherapy being unavailable in Scarlet and Violet, it was accidentally not removed from Ice Rider Calyrex's level-up moveset. In the 1.2.0 update, it was replaced with Psychic Terrain, matching what Calyrex's other forms learned at that level.
