Exploud (Japanese: バクオング Bakuong) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves from Loudred starting at level 40. It is the final form of Whismur.
Biology
Physiology
Exploud is a large purple creature whose most obvious feature is its huge mouth. It also has many holes along its body: seven along its head-crest, four on its elbows and knees, two along its back and two on the end of its two tails. These holes serve a dual-purpose: They can suck in air to increase Exploud's noise based attacks and they can make noise themselves. Its red eyes also add to its look of intimidation. There is also a half-circle on its belly, which is rarely seen because of its giant mouth.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Exploud is an extremely loud Pokémon, capable of causing earthquakes by raising its voice.
Behavior
It uses the holes on its body to communicate its feelings. It only uses its voice for battle since it is too loud to use in normal situations.

In the anime
Guy's Loudred evolved into Exploud in Exploud and Clear. After it evolved, it disobeyed its trainer, in a similar fashion as Ash's Charizard. It left Guy (knocking him to the side in the process). Later in the episode, Team Rocket tried to kidnap the Exploud and Guy tried to stop them from capturing it. When the Exploud saw what guy was doing for it, the Exploud began to listen to him once again.

Trivia
Origin
Exploud is based on a boombox, a portable music system that can play music at a relatively high volume.
Name origin
Exploud's name may be a combination of explode and loud. Its Japanese name may be a combination of back and 音楽 ongaku, music, referring to the openings on Exploud's back which allow it to create loud bellowings. The Japanese word for explosion, bakuha, might have had some influence on its name as well.
In other languages
- German: Krawumms
- French: Brouhabam - From brouhaha (uproar), and the onomatopoeia bam (the sound of a slam).
- Korean: 폭음룡 Pok'eumryong
