Barboach was going to be featured in an episode between Solid as a Solrock and Vanity Affair, but it was postponed due to a earthquake that occurred sometime before it's scheduled airdate.
Barboach was one of the Pokémon that Juan used for his performace at the begining of The Great Eight Fate.

Name origin
Barboach's name is a combination of barb, referring to the barbs around its mouth, and loach, referring to the species of fish that is similar to Barboach. Its Japanese name is a contraction of dojo loach, a species of loach.
