Release date October 9, 2019

The All Stars Collection GX Starter Deck (Chinese: G超起始牌組 眾星雲集組合篇 GX Starter Deck: All Stars Collection) is a randomized deck for the Pokémon Trading Card Game released alongside the inaugural Sun & Moon Series set in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Information

Together with the All Stars Collection, this was the first official TCG product translated into Chinese since EX Legend Maker in 2006. The deck is constructed in the same way as the other GX Starter Decks first available in Thailand and Indonesia, consisting of three groups of cards that are randomly assembled. Of these groups, two center on Pokémon of a particular type and include quantities of basic Energy cards that support them. The first group has 18 varieties, each of which contains 18 cards including a guaranteed Pokémon-GX. The second group has 7 varieties, each containing 16 cards. The cards within each group variant are always the same. The final group contains a random selection of 26 cards sourced from a pool that includes Item and Supporter cards.

The deck includes cards that can be found in the main All Stars Collection as well as a number of exclusive cards. Those found in both products can be differentiated by their collection number and set symbol. Cards from the deck also lack rarity symbols and any Holofoil patterns, including Pokémon-GX. Each deck comes packaged with a rulesheet and a cardboard sheet containing damage counters, status markers, and a GX marker.

Trivia

The Turtonator card numbered 029/157 was not included in initial production runs of the deck, presumably due to error. It is currently unknown if this card was to be included in the Charizard-GX group or the Fire-type non-Pokémon-GX group, or if the error was rectified with later production runs. Some card shops in Hong Kong and Taiwan later offered a service where people could exchange the Turtonator numbered 028/157 for the one numbered 029/157.
