201

After clearing Pitfall Valley and obtaining the Sky Blue Plains Friend Area in an optional mission, Medicham and Ekans will appear in front of Whiscash Pond. After talking to them for a few days, a rescue mission for Medicham will appear on the notice board. Accepting it unlocks this dungeon. Medicham is found on floor 20, and completing the mission rewards the player with a Wish StoneRB/Wishing StoneRTDX.

Gameplay

Generation III

In the original games, any Pokémon entering the dungeon are reduced to level 1, returning to their original level on exiting it. HM Surf is required to enter this dungeon. The game will be saved compulsorily before entering and the amount of money carried will be reduced to 0.

Floors 25 to 62 are shrouded in darkness, limiting field of view in hallways to 2 tiles. On floors 63 to 98, the field is limited further, to just one tile.

The Leaf Stone, King's Rock and Upgrade can only be obtained through purchase from Kecleon Shop in this dungeon.

The Wish Stone on 50F will be replaced by a Link Cable if player already has one either in their inventory or Kangaskhan Storage. After defeating Jirachi, if the player has this item in their inventory and chooses not to accept Jirachi as a team member, it will grant one of the following wishes:

Wish Effect
Lots of Money Jirachi will give between 10,000 and 18,000 Poké. The money must be collected manually.
Lots of Items Jirachi will give 25 random items that can be found in Wish Cave. Items must be collected manually. Since more items are given than the Toolbox's capacity, any unclaimed items will be lost.
Friend Area Jirachi will give one of the Friend Areas or camps to the rescue team for free. If all Friend Areas or camps are obtained, Jirachi will mention the player having many already, and will be unable to grant the wish, and will ask for another wish.
More Power Jirachi will give 25 food and drink items that permanently raise stats. Items must be collected manually. Since more items are given than the Toolbox's capacity, any unclaimed items will be lost.
Something Good Jirachi will do one of these:
  • Raise the rescue rank to the next level. If any Wonder Mail missions were completed during the dungeon, the rank will be upgraded after receiving the points and rewards.
  • If the player's team is Lucario Rank, a Pokémon that has not been recruited will show up in front of the Team Base and can be recruited, giving the required Friend Area in the process if necessary.
  • If the player's team is Lucario Rank and has recruited all Pokémon, the player will receive money.

The player will still have the Wish Stone afterwards.

Generation VIII

In the remake, any Pokémon entering the dungeon are reduced to level 5, returning to their original level on exiting it. No HM is required for entry.

The Wishing Stone is now a device similar to the Teleport Gem, no longer being an item appearing in the inventory and cannot never be lost once obtained. After rescuing Medicham and defeating Jirachi, Jirachi will grant one of the following wishes:

Wish Effect
Lots of   money Jirachi will give 20,000 Poké.
Lots of items Jirachi will give 16 random items that can be found in Wish Cave. Items received are sent to the Kangaskhan Storage.
A Camp Jirachi will give one of the Rescue team camps to the rescue team for free. If all camps are obtained, Jirachi will mention the player having many already, and will be unable to grant the wish, and will ask for another wish.
More Strength Jirachi will give 16 food and drink items that permanently raise stats. Items received are sent to the Kangaskhan Storage.
Something Good! A non-boss Pokémon that has not been recruited will show up in front of the Team Base and can be recruited, giving the required Camp in the process if necessary.

After granting the chosen wish, Jirachi joins the player's team. Returning to 99F after completing the dungeon for the first time causes Jirachi to temporarily revisit Wish Cave, and grant the player another of the above wishes.
