Illusory Grotto (Japanese: 幻影の洞窟 Illusory Grotto) is a dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. Illusory Grotto is a time sensitive dungeon that can only be entered when the player has no Reviver Seeds, Tiny Reviver Seeds, or Revive All Orbs in both the player's inventory and storage, and progress a day. It is not required to faint to enter. The number of floors and Pokémon encountered in the dungeon vary, and are based on the last dungeon the player was wiped out in. The number of floors cannot exceed 12, unless the dungeon it is based on has exactly 13 floors. It is the only dungeon in which Invitations can be found in treasure boxes.
There's said to be a strange, illusory dungeon that appears from time to time. It's also said that if you go there, you can get many items that will prove useful on your adventures.
Pokémon encountered will vary with each adventure in the dungeon.
Because the mechanical function of the dungeon is to provide revival items to players that do not have any, most of the items found inside it are related to that function: Reviver Seeds, Tiny Reviver Seeds, and Revive All Orbs are the most common items players will find inside.
- The mechanics of the dungeon, as well as its specific entrance requirements, make it so no Rescue Team requests can be taken for Illusory Grotto.
