Pokémon TV is a free video service provided by The Pokémon Company International that provides select episodes of the Pokémon anime to viewers. It was first accessible to users in November 2010. Episodes are divided by series or by seasons with the viewable episodes being rotated out over time. It can be viewed through the Internet with a web browser or by downloading the free "Pokémon TV" app on the App Store for iOS (with Chromecast support) and tvOS (Apple TV 4th generation), on Google Play for Android (with Chromecast support), on the Amazon Appstore for the Amazon Fire TV, and on the Roku Channel Store for Roku devices.
Available content
English
There are two English versions of the service, a United States and a United Kingdom version. Both the website and the mobile app are available for both versions. On the United States service, all six series are available with ten episodes for each. Each Friday, the episodes showing are rotated, removing the earliest five and adding the next five of a series. The United Kingdom service generally uses the same schedule. The new episodes rotate identically with the US version with both regions updating at the same time, but the UK is updated on Saturdays rather than Fridays due to time zone differences. In addition, specials shown on the US and UK services may differ.
The US version is accessed through the US website or, in the case of the mobile app, having the device set to United States English or an unsupported language. The UK version is accessed through the UK website or using the app with the device set to United Kingdom English.
Currently, seasons 1, 2, 3, 8, 12, 15, and 19, Pokémon Origins, Pokémon Generations, and the first eleven episodes of Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon are being aired. Pokémon the Series: XY is also being rotated in the United Kingdom.
French, German, Italian, and European Spanish
The French, German, Italian, and European Spanish services show the episodes on a shared schedule. Like the English versions, there are six different episode categories. Each category shows ten episodes that rotate each Friday (in release order), with the episode showing being similar to the English versions in that it removes the earliest five and adds the next five. Currently, seasons 1, 2, 3, 8, 12, 15, and 19, Pokémon Origins, and Pokémon Generations are being aired. Pokémon the Series: XY is also being rotated in the French, Italian, and European Spanish services. In France, Germany, and Italy, Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon is being rotated, while only the first two episodes of this season are available in Spain.
Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese
The Pokémon TV in Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese show the episodes from the first six series in the same order as the English, French, German, Italian, and European Spanish services, with the only difference being the special episodes. Currently, seasons 1, 2, 3, 8, 12, and 15, and Pokémon Generations are being aired. Pokémon the Series: XYZ and the first two episodes of Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon are available in Dutch, while Pokémon the Series: XY is being rotated in Brazilian Portuguese.
Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Russian, and Swedish
These languages' services also show the episodes on a shared schedule, but unlike the other languages, the service is divided by seasons. Each season shows ten episodes (in release order) that rotate every Friday. They currently have four categories showing the following seasons:
- Danish - Seasons 1, 2, 18, and 19;
- Finnish - Seasons 12, 14, 15, and 16;
- Norwegian - Seasons 14, 15, 16, and 17;
- Russian - Seasons 6, 7, 8, and 18;
- Swedish - Seasons 15, 16, 17, and 18.
Other languages
Despite Pokémon TV being available in Brazilian Portuguese and Castilian Spanish, Portugal, Argentina, and Chile do not have their own website to distribute the service and instead redirect the user to the official North American site.
Languages other than these or the ones with more support are unavailable in the service.
