Dancing? Pokémon Band (Japanese: おどる？ポケモンおんがくたい) is a free mobile phone application for modern smartphones devices with iOS and Android, released promotionally in 2015. Its availability on the App Store and the Android Market was limited from June 30 to September 30, 2015, and could be played until October 29, 2015.
The application is a rhythm-based game based on the Pikachu short Pikachu and the Pokémon Band. The goal is to tap Pokémon icons in rhythm to the music and sounds going on in the game. The song the application uses is the Japanese ending theme of the Pokémon anime at the time of the application's announcement, Roaring All-Stars.
Hoopa appears and summons a Pokémon with one of its rings. The player starts by playing as this Pokémon. Three icons, each featuring a different Pokémon's face, must be tapped when their corresponding musical notes fall over them to make the player Pokémon dance. Tapping an icon while the note is in the middle awards higher points than if it is on the edge. For each correct tap, a meter fills up. When the meter is full, two other Pokémon join the player Pokémon in a special 10-second dance round where the Pokémon icons may be freely tapped. When the song ends, the game ends and the player is ranked. A Pecha Berry is then awarded, worth a certain amount of points depending on the player's score.
These points gained from Pecha Berries are added up each time they are gained, and eventually, the player may spend these points to unlock a new playable Pokémon.
Using a password, the player can unlock Hoopa. The password was announced on Pokémon Get☆TV. Oha Suta announced another password to unlock Meowth. Later, another password was announced on Pokémon Get☆TV to unlock AD Pikachu.
