  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.

Using tt with links

Avoid using {{tt}} with links because it makes the hovertext hard to read. For example: Ash's Pikachu --Abcboy (talk) 16:34, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

Ok! But how should I handle the opening pages then? I'd like if they had both the translations and the links to their respective pages. Should I put it in an * or something? --Mine4017 (talk) 16:42, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
I would say your best shot is to do it by putting the translation in italics after the name in the original language, like we do with Japanese. --Abcboy (talk) 16:56, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

Are you sure it's not a typo? We get the English games here so it's not like we use different names for the Pokémon. SatoMew2 (talk) 01:28, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

I saw it on the Biggs website (they have corrected it now) and on the promotional trailer on the Canal Biggs youtube channel. It was Dancie in the title of the video, the desciption and the video itself, and it was also pronounced Dancie by the narrator. However, it was correctly written Diancie (the Pokémon, not the name of the movie) on the blurb at Biggs website. It's most probably an error and, if they change it for the premiere, we could at least say that they used that in the trailers. --Mine4017 (talk) 17:33, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
I see, thanks for clarifying. They definitely missed this and I guess they still have time to correct the typo everywhere :) SatoMew2 (talk) 23:08, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

Episode and Movie titles

Just so you know, episode and movie titles must be italicized. Thank you.--ForceFire 03:22, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Sorry! I already knew that. I just forgot to add it.--Mine4017 (talk) 13:57, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Quotes headers

The character article layout is a bit outdated. Having headers for the locations under quotes needlessly lengthens the table of contents and when the character's from a side game that doesn't necessarily have locations, it becomes very cumbersome. glikglak 01:18, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

Right! It was added to the Project page in 2009. But this section of the Project was made to provide guidelines to people writing articles about the characters. And there has also been some inconsistency about the articles, for example:
Since I didn't know which way was right, I went to the Project:CharacterDex page to verify and found out it's the second case. If there has been a change in the structure, the Project layout structure needs to be updated, as well as all the outdated pages. I was just trying to keep them standard. Which way is right now? --Mine4017 (talk) 01:56, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
Put headers for games and no lower, unless there's a large chunk of quotes for a very specific thing, like a Professor's Pokédex evaluations or Steven's variable messages from the ORAS demo. There'll be quite a few pages that do different things; fixing all of the headers is a very time-consuming task for a very minor change, so there's usually something more important to be done. And you're the only person I know of who's actually looked at the CharacterDex page. glikglak 03:08, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
May I edit the second line of pages then to match the first line? --Mine4017 (talk) 12:30, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
Of course. glikglak 14:43, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

Pokémon TCGO

Hello I could not help but notice that you added Russian names on these artcles just now. So I was wondering if you know if the Russian version of the game contains Russian cards with Russian names before the XY era? If so could these names be found anywhere in say a list or anything? --Raltseye 02:06, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Yes, a great majority of the cards are translated, from Black and White up to BREAKpoint. You can see them in a list that you can sort by alphabetical order, or filter by expansion, type, etc. For that, you need to play through the whole tutorial (or skip it), then go to the homepage, press the second button on the top bar, then the first button that appears to see your collection. There, you'll have a list with all the cards you have, but you can also click on the second button at the top to show cards that you don't have. You need to have an account on the Pokémon Trainer Club to be able to play it. Here's the download link if you want: [1].
You're doing that for your list of Russian names, aren't you? While doing that, why don't you grab the species/category name as well? And then you could add them to this list.
Oh, and sorry for the wrong Russian names or transcriptions. I actually used the Russian alphabet page on Wikipedia to copy and paste the letters I was seeing, so they may be wrong. And I used Google Translate for transcriptions. --Mine4017 (talk) 02:32, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
Okay good, thank you for that, that is very convinient. And yes I am doing it for my list of Russian Pokémon names by the way.
I had actually missed that we even had a list like that. I will create an account and add all of this, or at least start working on it, as soon as I wake up and get back from school. :P
I don't think you had any names wrong actually, maybe черное should have been written чёрное because that is how I have seen iy being spelled, but I don't know maybe that's what they wrote?
Oh and by the way when writing in cyrillic letters the best way to do that if you don't have a cyrillic keyboard or want want to change language on the keyboard one can go to google translate and press somewhere on the screen to can get a virtual keyboard, which uses the mouse, and use that to write, it is much smoother than to copy from wikipedia to google translate and you get transcription at once. :) Just a tip for next time. --Raltseye 04:19, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

XYZ titles

Just yesterday, you added the titles for the first two XYZ series episodes in various languages, including Finnish. Can you name your source? I haven't been able to find it so far. Thank you in advance. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 04:17, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

Never mind. I just got told where to find them. Sorry for bothering. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 04:38, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
No problem! --Mine4017 (talk) 23:14, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

Russian categories names

Hello, I want to thank you for adding the Brazilian categories names to my list, but I must ask, how did you add them? I'm wondering since I'm planning to add the Russian categories but doing it manually is a bit too much of a hassle to me. Short story: is there an easy way to copy them into the list? --Raltseye prata med mej 22:04, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

I don't know any easy or fast way to add them. I just saw the name in the card and wrote it down. One thing I did to make it easier was order the Pokémon in TCGO by alphabetical order, so that they're grouped together. --Mine4017 (talk) 22:09, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
Ah that's exactly how I had in mind of doing it, I thought maybe it could a little less of a hassle but anyway, thank you for your reply, I appologize for my late. --Raltseye prata med mej 11:48, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

Name for PS496 and PS497

When you put the Brazilian Portuguese names for PS496 and PS497 you put Tornadus's name as "Tornados". So is that an error in the manga or a typo? Lady Ariel 22:41, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

I've added it wrong. It's "Tornadus". Sorry! --Mine4017 (talk) 22:48, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

Brazilian Portuguese name

Any chance you could add the name for Card flip from PS481? Lady Ariel 20:08, 12 December 2016 (UTC)

Done. Is there any other translation I missed from the Black & White chapter, or from the first volume of Red, Green & Blue? --Mine4017 (talk) 20:39, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
I am not sure if Magic Guard and Big Pecks are listed anywhere in White's Pokémon summary (which I am guessing is where you found name for Healer). I am also thinking Unnerve might be in Black's Pokémon summary. Other than those, Sheer Force, Illusion, Ice Body, Zen Mode, Cursed Body, Solid Rock, Heroes of Truth and Ideals, Charlotte, Puddley, Delise, and Pip, Ingo, Emmet, Amanita, Hawes, Fennel, Gorm, Ghetsis, Bronius, Ryoku, Giallo, Zinzolin, Looker (and also as Lou Karr), Colress (as Hood Man), Village of Dragons, Puddle were most likely missed. There is a few more like Friendship that I am not completely sure if they are named or not. This page has names that can be found in every chapter that hasn't been released in Vietnamese yet, so anything from Black & White is hidden on that page (most are separated by "Volume # start", but some that can be found in later rounds have their rounds hidden on the page).
I am not too sure if there is any that were missed in Volume 1. Lady Ariel 21:20, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for the list. I added the translations of all of those names that were missing. I had checked all of the Abilities before, I just didn't edit those pages, because the names currently on them were correct. The same goes for Village of Dragons. The names of characters are always the same as in English (including Lou Karr and Gray), so I don't think it's necessary to add them. For puddle, the translation of the sentence in PS517 was "and Stunfisk lived near Icirrus.", without naming "puddle". --Mine4017 (talk) 22:33, 12 December 2016 (UTC)

Danish name for In a League of his own

Where did you get the Danish name for this episode? I'm asking cause it's not on Pokémon TV and there's no name for the previous episode. --Raltseye prata med mej 19:41, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Here. They accidentaly added this episode to the list of XYZ episodes on the Danish website. --Mine4017 (talk) 19:50, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
Ah I only checked Pokémon TV in a haste. Thank you. --Raltseye prata med mej 20:03, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Clemont's Brazilian name

Hi. Clemont's page claims that his Brazilian name is Clement, Clemont's page says it's Clément, while Pokémon in Brazil utilizes Clément and Clemont. However, I didn't find any instances of Clément or Clement being officially used. Besides, Clemont (Generations 59)'s Brazilian name is Clemont. I also would like to point out that its Brazilian pronunciation is exactly the same as its English one. I would revert it myself, but I think I might be missing something. Could you please check it out and fix it? Thank you. --RafaelGN (talk) 13:22, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi! The translations of anime characters have always been inconsistent in Brazil, so I don't know if this is one of those cases. For example, Valerie's and Sycamore's names are tranlated on the Pokémon website, but Sycamore is not translated in the TCG. Bulbasaur has not been written as Bulbassauro in any recent media, even though this pronunciation is still used in the anime. Iris was even translated as Íris in some instances on Pokémon.com.
The name Clément was used by most fansites prior to the premiere of the seventeenth season as you can see here, and the way the characters pronounce it in the anime makes it looks like this is correct. I think we should keep the name Clément on the anime page, but remove it from the game character page, since this name wasn't used outside of the anime. --Mine4017 (talk) 17:09, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
I see. That's why I didn't change it. Although, I don't think the fansites should be considered, since most of them didn't know the pronunciations of Clément and Clemont are exactly the same. If we consider that all other changed names have different pronunciations that make them sound like Brazilian names, like Sicômoro, Valéria, or even Serena, it is likely that Clemont's name wasn't changed, otherwise it would probably be Clemente. I'm gonna fix Pokémon in Brazil and leave the others as they are now. --RafaelGN (talk) 10:45, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

International episodes

I noticed that you made a list of links to international episodes, however it hasn't been updated in a while. I have found a bunch of links that aren't on there. I am not sure if you are planning on updating that page or if you would like me to add the links that I have found. Lady Ariel 16:33, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

I have all the links on my computer, but adding them to the page takes a bit of time (I also totally forgot to do this). I may update that on the weekend, if I'm not busy. --Mine4017 (talk) 17:01, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
Okay. I was curious because I have noticed a lot of pages from late DP and early BW are missing the French titles, and I don't know if there is typos in the ones written on Pokemon.com, which means the title cards are the only way to double check. Lady Ariel 17:10, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Latin American dub

Would you happen to know if the Latin American dub was of the final version of the episode, including the music changes and the OP/ED? Also, if the opening was translated, could you add lyrics to the List of Latin American Pokémon themes? --Abcboy (talk) 12:48, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

The names of the first two episodes were shown on March 17 on US televisions that had the option to change the language to Latin American Spanish, as seen on this video. The only part of the episodes that I found on YouTube was the title card, so I don't know about the opening theme or if it was the final version or not. --Mine4017 (talk) 15:55, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

German airdates

German airdates are not notable, we only note airdates for the English dub on most pages outside of Trivia. --Abcboy (talk) 07:38, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Sorry! I thought airing before the US would be notable. --Mine4017 (talk) 18:04, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Clearly I shouldn't attempt to watch TV and edit anymore. Thank you for catching those links. Cheers. --Pokemaster97 01:49, 3 July 2017 (UTC)

No problem! I'm always here to help. --Mine4017 (talk) 01:53, 3 July 2017 (UTC)

Pokémon TV special airings

Hello! I just added the names in other languages for the Pokémon TV special airings on my user page for possible usage on Pokémon TV and I wanted to aks you if there are any other way to see the ones not archived at Wayback Machine? Also, were there any more then those I added? --Raltseye prata med mej 14:20, 3 September 2017 (UTC)

I don't remember any special other than those you listed. For the archives, are you checking only Pokémon TV? The main page usually has the specials names as well. You could try finding the names on Twitter too (France, Germany, Italy, Spain). --Mine4017 (talk) 21:11, 3 September 2017 (UTC)
I was only checking Pokémon TV, yes :P I didn't know they anounced it in Twitter, so I'll check it out right away! Thanks! --Raltseye prata med mej 21:21, 3 September 2017 (UTC)

By any chance would the source for this edit give the episode a title? --Abcboy (talk) 22:33, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

Unfortunately, no. According to this schedule from Cartoon Network Brazil (search for Pokémon), only the episode number is available, with the episode name temporarily being "POKEMON - SEASON 20". A German schedule also says SM044 will air in March, on Disney XD, and SM045 on the following day. I don't know if those episodes are indeed part of season 20, or those channels just planned their schedule ahead of time before knowing how many episodes the season had. --Mine4017 (talk) 00:05, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
Although the German schedules have since removed the episodes, the French apparently didn't get the message (44, 45)... Would be good to see what they actually do. --Abcboy (talk) 02:30, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

I noticed that you listed the Brazilian Portugese name of PS084 as VS Clafable. Is that correct or should it be VS Clefable? Lady Ariel 19:00, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

And I did it again... Sorry, it's "Clefable", I misspelt it. --Mine4017 (talk) 20:17, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

Brazilian Portuguese names being changed

Can you check on the contributions Mr. Yanma is making? They seem to be removing the Brazilian Portuguese names and and adding a general Portuguese name. For example the change they made to Sucker Punch removed the two names for it in Brazilian Portuguese and added a brand new name under Portuguese. In your edit summary from last year, you said one of those names was from Pokémon GO. I don't want to talk to them about it, since I am not familiar with the original source(s) but I know most of them were added by you. Lady Ariel 03:10, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for notifying me! I have already seen their edits and I'm in the process of gathering all the sources for the translations of those moves, preferably with images, before talking to them. --Mine4017 (talk) 17:29, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
Okay glad to hear that. I wasn't sure what was going on and figured I would let you know just in case, since you would be the most familiar with them. Lady Ariel 18:55, 16 September 2018 (UTC)

M21 release date source

Where did you got the M21 release date in Brazil being January 11? I searched on other sites and didn't find anything about it --Lbr5539 00:06, 15 December 2018 (UTC)

It's on the schedule for Cartoon Network. Search for "Pokémon" (Ctrl+F) and you should be able to find the movie at the bottom of the page. --Mine4017 (talk) 00:26, 15 December 2018 (UTC)

Edit on the page Poké Ball Plus

Pokémon GO names

I recently managed to get a text dump for Pokémon GO. Would you be interested in it to add any missing Brazilian Portuguese names, or update any that might have been changed? Lady Ariel 18:51, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Yes! I'd be really interested in the text dump. Are you allowed to send it through here? If not, you can send it to me via e-mail. --Mine4017 (talk) 20:00, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
Some users have text dumps posted in their userspace, so I don't see what the problem would be. Here is the link. Of course future versions of the game will make changes. That is the text for all languages, sadly I don't know which file is for which language (I figured it out before, but I can't remember which is which). A few other pages need names too like Field Research and Special Research (other mechanics I think are missing them as well), besides the obvious pages like moves. Please let me know if you have any questions. Lady Ariel 23:20, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
Thank you! I'll add the missing names soon. --Mine4017 (talk) 23:42, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
Your welcome. I figured you would be the best equipped to handle all Brazilian Portuguese names (some are only in sentences). I will try to keep you updated with future text dumps as more changes are made to the game. By the way, its also easy to tell what everything corresponds to since the way its written is like a script with the same code calling the sentences in every language (and it mentions what calls what). Lady Ariel 00:33, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
Can you find the names for Special Research and Friends (should be the same line in all translations, if you want to add all of them)? And what about the form names for other Pokémon, such as Deoxys? Its possible the Pokédex entries might have more obscure names in them as well. Lady Ariel 20:52, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
I'm going through the text dump rather slowly (still on line 1358 out of 4453 XD). About Deoxys, they don't list the full form name like "Attack Forme" - it's just "Attack", so I haven't added those. The Friends page doesn't have an In other languages section, so I didn't know if it was notable enough to list the friednships names. Should I add all of them or just "Friend(s)"? I'll add the translation for special research now. --Mine4017 (talk) 21:03, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
I think all of the different names should be listed, including those like Ultra Friend and Best Friend. Did they do that for Castform's forms too? Do they have Giratina's form's the right way (if so I don't see the problem with putting the translation for Deoxy's Forms with the "Forme" part from Giratina, it should be the exact same)? Lady Ariel 21:27, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
Castform and Giratina are listed like in the core series games. But I'm against listing Deoxys's Formes with Giratina's translation for Forme. For Attack Forme, it could either be "Forma Ataque" or "Forma de Ataque", so I think I'll wait until they mention the forms names completely. --Mine4017 (talk) 22:10, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

(resetting indent) Do they translate the in-game news to the language the game is in? If so the English news article for Deoxys has its form named properly. Maybe you could check that? Lady Ariel 21:38, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

The in-game news are translated, but I couldn't find them on the text dumps (I tried searching for "Deoxys"). --Mine4017 (talk) 23:47, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
Yeah the in-game news aren't stored in the text files, they are stored on the server (the same place the sprites and Pokémon models are stored). Are you able to view it in-game by any chance? If not it might be in here somewhere. Lady Ariel 23:23, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
I'll check that later. Thank you! --Mine4017 (talk) 01:16, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

A subpage of yours, International episodes/Sun & Moon hasn't been updated for a few months. MH (talk) 08:52, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Sorry about that! I haven't had much free time lately, but I'll update my subpages soon. (probably by the end of the month, at the most) --Mine4017 (talk) 14:15, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
There is still no update at all. MH (talk) 10:24, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi. I see that you've been editing less lately. I imagine it's because of college/work. I can't promise much, but if you want any help, you can call me on Discord (RafaelGN #3318). --RafaelGN (talk) 21:21, 4 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi! I haven't had much time lately as I used to, so I have given up on some projets I had here, such as my user pages and the Portuguese TCG Merchandise pages. And I'm now up to date with getting the Brazilian translations from the latest anime episodes, manga rounds, and TCG expansions, so that's part of the reason I've been editing less as well (I'm still getting the translations from the first 17 seasons though, but that will take a while due to how many times tranlations changed back then, and I plan on adding them in batches later). I don't think I need any help for now, but thanks for the offer! --Mine4017 (talk) 19:32, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
Cool. If you change your mind, don't hesitate to call me. ;) --RafaelGN (talk) 23:57, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
