Air Cutter

Guys I think we should hold of on Air Cutter until Ash actually commands it, especially since he can't use it in game.RBK (talk) 03:12, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Agreed. And maybe this is not Air Cutter, this can be Razor Wind too, we should hold up--Omojuzeforever (talk) 04:39, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Wing Attack

Doesn't it use the attack in the gym battle in XY005? ×Impoleon xy× 01:08, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

No. Ataro (talk) 01:17, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
I guess the part with Fletchling's wings glowing and it attacking Vivillon were for XY006? Torpoleon (talk) 01:26, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
Ok, it used prepared Razor Wind. ;) ×Impoleon xy× 10:52, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Should it be notable that Fletchling is the only basic stage bird Pokemon Ash has had that has gotten an official win. Taillow, Starly and Pidove all evolved before getting an official win. --Dman dustin (talk) 22:50, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

That seems too specific to be notable, but I'm not sure. --Wynd Fox 02:50, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

When Fletchling evolves

When Fletchling evolves, would it be trivia worthy that Fletchinder would become Ash's first Fire-type Pokémon to not have either been previously owned and abandoned by an abusive trainer, was attempted to have been caught by one, nor been attacked by a hoard of wild Pokémon before its capture? Or does that only apply to Pokémon that were Fire-types to begin with? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 00:03, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

I'd say it' not notable because of how many caveats you have to add on to make it unique. Glik (talk) 00:13, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
As Glik said, too specific. And since it wasn't a Fire-type at the time of capture, it does not apply. Ataro (talk) 00:33, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
It seems somewhat less specific when you shorten it to "Ash's first Fire-type Pokémon that he didn't rescue in some way", but, again, it wasn't Fire-type at capture, so whatever. -- EnosShayremtalk 00:36, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
While I agree with the statement above, It would seem more logical to say "After its evolution, it became the first fire type Ash did not rescue in any way", This gives the readers the information that it was AFTER it evolved. But what I would like to know is where is the evidence of its evolution? Thanks Waterninja12345 (talk) 18:35, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
Even if it's considered notable, it should be added if and when it actually evolves into Fletchinder. Pikachu Bros. (talk) 18:38, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi everyone. I realized that the page became protected due to evidence of evolution. Where is this evidence? Cause I never seen it pointed out in previews? Thanks - Waterninja12345 (talk) 13:50, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

CoroCoro. Pikachu Bros. (talk) 13:52, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, but a bit more specific? Because just saying CoroCoro is all well and good, but it does not give me the full information. Because I want to find the evidence but its hard to make out what issue of CoroCoro it would be in. Thanks - Waterninja12345 (talk) 21:04, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
Unfortunately, we can't put links to external sites for things like this. Personally, I saw it on a calendar-like poster on the forums. If you really want hard proof for yourself, I'd advise to look around the major Pokémon forums. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 21:16, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
Waterninja12345, Or alternatively you could look up the new japanese opening for the XY series on youtube or something--Ditto51/Tom (My Talk Page) 07:16, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
Read the timestamp. That post was made before that opening even debuted. Ataro (talk) 08:01, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

Fletchling's evolution in XY036

In the preview for XY036, it shows Fletchling glowing while being engulfed in Talonflame's Flamethrower. I could be wrong, but could this be saying that Fletchling will evolve in this episode? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 23:40, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

Yes. We're not touching anything until the episode airs, though. Ataro (talk) 23:43, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
Ok. I was wondering if anyone who can edit this page edit the tag so it would say "evolve in XY036", not "evolve in a future episode"? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 23:49, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
Personally (although unlikely), there could be a small chance it is NOT Ash's, so it's best to leave it intill the episode. Tho it is unlikely, it could be a possibility Waterninja12345 (talk) 22:41, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

It has been confirmed that Ash had a Fletchinder in the movie, instead of Fletchling. And since the movie has been officially released today, is any staff member against the move? I personally do not see a valid reason to wait for the episode to air, now that the movie is already out. AdynizWanna talk? 03:00, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

No issues here. --Pokemaster97 03:21, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
Well, the move stunned me. However, it could not explain why Ash obtain a Fletchling in XY036, although the evolution was confirmed to happen at this episode. Raymond 16:19, 20 July 2014 (UTC)

Trivia for Ash's Fletchinder

I have another trivia for Ash's Fletchinder: Fletchinder is Ash's second Fire/Flying Pokémon. The first is Charizard.--ChristianChristian (talk) 20:34, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Since it's not the first time he's had a Fire/Flying type, the point looses its notability. --Pokemaster97 20:35, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Ash's Fletchinder Trivia

I have a trivia for Ash's Fletchinder: Fletchinder is Ash's second Fire/Flying Pokémon that Ash obtained. The first is Charizard. Another similiarity with Ash's Fletchinder and Charizard is that they become Fire/Flying Pokémon through evolution. Flecthinder evolved from Fletchling (a Normal/Flying type). Charizard evolved from Charmeleon (a pure Fire type).

User:Chrisbulb|Christian]] (talk) 01:52, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

Seconds aren't notable and it's too specific. PattyMan 01:55, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

Trivia for Ash's Fletchinder Rejected

Why do you reject this trivia and why is it not notable? Is it not good enough?

Fletchinder is Ash's second Fire/Flying Pokémon that Ash obtained.

Charizard is Ash's only Fire/Flying type before Ash got Fletchinder.Christian (talk) 02:07, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

The reason is because on Bulbapedia it isn't considered notable if something is the second of something. --NOBODY (talk) 02:45, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
Futhermore, comparison trivia was eliminated from our Anime articles some time ago. So the similarity points wouldn't really work either. --Pokemaster97 02:48, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

Trivia Idea

Should this peice of trivia should be added?

Flecthinder is Ash's Second Pokemon to evolve during a battle against it's final form in it's basic form, The first Is Pignite who evolved against a battle against emboar as a tepig

and if it gets acepted, can I put it in? - unsigned comment from Fireflower30 (talkcontribs)

First of all, second is not notable. Second, please fix your signature so it conforms to the signature policy. Berrenta (talk) 02:41, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Just a suggestion...

Should we post a notice on the top of this talk page regarding trivia additions about Fletchinder being the second Fire-type to do so and so since it has been getting requested a lot? It also happened here. PattyMan 04:54, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

That's a possibility. We can also put this hiding in the trivia section:
<!--Please do not put anything about Fletchinder being the second fire type to evolve during a battle against it's final form in it's basic form. Seconds are not notable.-->

--リックEO (オープン for discussion) 05:41, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

It's really not necessary tbh. This isn't the first page to get people suggesting unnotable trivia, and it won't be the last. It hasn't been added to the page that much, and this page is short enough that it's pretty easy to see it's been asked before. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 12:03, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Razor Wind/Steel Wing

Show we try and get pictures uploaded of Fletchinder using Steel Wing & Razor Wind as a Fletchinder, as I'm having trouble finding it. Thanks Waterninja12345 (talk) 06:48, 26 September 2014 (UTC)

I've been told that it's ok to use an image from It's as easy as find an image and upload it. --リックEO (My message board) 03:50, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

Misleading Trivia

"Fletchinder is Ash's first Pokémon to change one of its types upon evolution." Could be more specific. It sounds like it's saying that Fletchinder was the first one to change type at all (obviously not true), but upon closer inspection, it just means the first to lose one type and gain another. Perhaps it should say, "Fletchinder is Ash's first dual-type Pokémon to change one of its types upon evolution."Nezeltha (talk) 06:05, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

Not really, it is his first Pokémon to change type upon evolution. Other either stayed the same type or gained at type (such as Charizard). Gaining a type is not the same as having a type changed.--ForceFire 06:14, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

It looks like it might be time to protect this page: RBK (talk) 07:32, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

Oh and it's evolving in XY086. RBK (talk) 08:05, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

I've semi protected it. Not going to fully protect just yet as it may do something significant between now and XY086 (like learn a new move) and users might want to add that information in. --ForceFire 08:08, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
After XY086 airs, is it worth mentioning that both of Talonflame's evolutions occurred during battles against Fire/Flying-type Pokémon? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 23:34, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
I think it would also be the first Pokémon in the anime to evolve in a battle against a Legendary Pokémon. That's got to be notable, surely? - unsigned comment from Gengarzilla (talkcontribs)
The Fire/Flying piece sounds rather specific, imo. The Legendary Pokémon piece is notable since that is kind of something you don't expect to happen.--ForceFire 03:15, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
Ok. I agree with the trivia of being the first Pokémon to evolve during a battle against a legendary Pokémon being notable, but if the trivia of Talonflame's evolutions occurring against two Pokémon who share the same type combination is unimportant, then the trivia of Dawn's Mamoswine's evolutions occurring during battles against Team Rocket should be unimportant as well. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 19:20, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
A little bit about both evolutions occuring against other Flying types could be fine in the Personality and Characteristics section though, right? Since it does cover Fletchinder wanting to prove itself against others of that type. Sneaking from page to page... It's the page-editing purple ghost... Gengarzilla! 18:48, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
The latest preview for XY086 almost outright confirms that Fletchinder's going to evolve. During its battle with Moltres, it gets hit by what appears to be a Fire Blast and begins to emit the blue evolutionary glow. Azureprism (talk) 10:16, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
And lastly, I've noticed how most Pokémon owned by main characters who defeat their immediate evolved form never do evolve into that stage themselves (Pikachu vs Raichu, Piplup vs Prinplup, Buizel vs Floatzel, Croagunk vs Toxicroak, Snivy vs Servine, Pignite vs Emboar, Oshawott vs Dewott, possibly some others I've missed.) but Fletchinder's going to break that pattern by evolving into Talonflame despite having previously defeated one in the Fletchinder stage. Rather specific but I can't help noticing this. - unsigned comment from Gengarzilla (talkcontribs)

Fletchinder and Talonflame evolution

Can someone put pics when Fletchling evolves into Fletchinder and when he evolves into Talonflame. - unsigned comment from Makarov5 (talkcontribs)

IT'll be added after the episode airs.--ForceFire 13:49, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Can we put this photo please

this photo is great but why wouldn't work--SilverioBOMB (talk) 19:09, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

In order to put images into Bulbapedia articles, they need to be uploaded to the Bulbagarden Archives first. Using [[File:<image>.png]] creates a redlink unless the image is on the Archives. AGGRON989 01:38, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
well how can i do this --SilverioBOMB (talk) 19:05, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
Since you likely wouldn't have uploading permissions there, I suggest contacting an Archives staff member or someone who has uploading privileges. However, it might be best to determine where you want to use the image, first. Neither would be good for the infobox.
I have also removed the images from the in-line text by turning them into links. Look at how I did that so you can do this in the future with other image requests. CycloneGU (talk) 04:23, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Is this trivia worthy?

Is it worth mentioning that Talonflame's evolution was the first time a song other than one used for an XY series opening or ending was used as an insert song during an evolution of one of Ash and friends' Pokémon? Or is that too specific to be worth noting? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 00:39, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Seems too specific to me.Rahl (talk) 02:39, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

I think its good trivia--SilverioBOMB (talk) 02:44, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

I agree with Rahl, I think it's too specific, because there's been more than one other song that's been used for a Pokémon evolution. If all the other evolutions used the same song, then it'd be notable, but they didn't. AGGRON989 02:53, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
Way too specific, and I don't think it was the only one.--ForceFire 04:31, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

That image isn't really needed. Playerking95 (talk) 07:23, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Why not. It should be Needed its great epic evolution that Flecthinder evolving to save his friends from harm by taking the attack for them showing personality as well--SilverioBOMB (talk) 07:25, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

It's not important enough to be needed here and it doesn't really show it's personality all that much. Playerking95 (talk) 07:58, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Well Flecthinder shows to risk its own life for others to fly fast enough to save others lives from harm --SilverioBOMB (talk) 08:04, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

But Ash's other Pokemon probably would've done the same thing if they could have. Playerking95 (talk) 08:10, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Talk: Ash's Talonflame

Christian (talk) 20:52, 20 November 2015 (UTC) Hi Bulbapedia,

I have a great fact to add to the trivia of Ash's Talonflame.

  • Talonflame is Ash's second Fire/Flying-type Pokémon. The first Pokémon Ash has with that type combination is Charizard.

I feel this is an important note because Ash never caught any other Pokémon other than Charizard with that type combination. This should not be removed because it is the truth.

Seconds aren't notable, and just because something is true, doesn't make it that way either, unless an admin says otherwise. This was in the edit summaries of your edits' redactions, and is a part of the official trivia policy. Kindly refrain from adding any unnotable trivia, read and adhere to all official policies, and take disputes to the appropriate talk pages from now on:Don't edit war when you don't immediately get your way with an addition to Bulbapedia. Thank you. --BlisseyandtheAquaJets (talk) 21:33, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Is it worth mentioning that Talonflame is Ash's only Kalos region Pokémon whose gender is still unknown? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 18:26, 7 February 2016 (UTC)

Not until the series ends. It might get confirmed later on. AGGRON989 18:40, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
Greninja's gender is only dub confirmed anyway. Not in the original Japanese. Sneaking from page to page... It's the page-editing purple ghost... Gengarzilla! 23:47, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

Talon flame have proven to be able to fight against legendary Pokemon

Compared to his other regional bird Pokemon of Ash. Ash Talonflame formidable foes like Moria Talonflame, Moltres, and Zapdos.

Shouldn't we add this to the personality and characteristics section.

Like it was added in Ash's Noivern page --SilverioBOMB (talk) 14:40, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

On Noivern's page, the bit about Zapdos is only there to show how Noivern's personality changed when it evolved. It's not as relevant to Talonflame because pretty much all of Ash's Pokémon are willing to take on strong opponents. AGGRON989 22:59, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

Since Flame Body was its ability as Fletchinder, wouldn't that still be its ability as Talonflame? I understand the "maybe writers will give it HA" argument, or rather would, if the ability hadn't already been shown to be Flame Body. Geodude6 (talk) 07:52, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

The writers could decide to change it just because.--ForceFire 08:14, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
