Welcome to Bulbapedia, PKMNAdventurer!
Bulbapedia bulb.png

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Userspace limits

Hi. I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently. Please don't do it any more, though. Bulbapedia's Userspace policy restricts the amount you can edit your userpage: no more than three edits per day and make sure you contribute to our mainspace more than your userspace. This policy was instated to promote people helping out in the mainspace, and also to control strain on our server. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal userpage. The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your userpage. Thanks! --Den Zen 19:56, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I was unaware that I was making more edits on my page than I was allowed to daily. I've started editing the rest of the wiki, but is it possible if maybe I can edit my page every now and then after I make several edits in the wiki? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 01:10, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Boom. Reshiram.

Please refrain from adding trivia that mentions two or more individuals share a specific trait. thank. --The Truth aka Relicant 16:56, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Well

Well, first of all that was not a challenge and I don't think this is a trivia mentioning that this was the first Pokémon caught of this type. So please cool down. Thank You!!--Viv (talk) 04:05, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry if I overreacted earlier. I thought that the trivia regarding Dedenne being the first Fairy-type Pokémon owned by a main character was important, and you removed it saying "well then every type's first Pokémon caught should have been mentioned........." Since some other Pokémon owned by main characters were already listed as being their type's first capture, like James's Yamask for Ghost, Brock's Forretress for Steel, Misty's Starmie for Psychic, Ash's Gible for Dragon, and Ash's Scraggy for Dark, I thought you'd only allow Dedenne's Fairy-type trivia if all 18 types had them. I wasn't trying to cause problems here. If I did, I apologize for making such a mess. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 07:52, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Making wide-spread changes

Even though I don't think they're notable, I won't revert your changes to various Trainers' Pokemon articles because I'm not sure the admins will agree with me; but please note that you shouldn't make such wide-spread changes without suggesting it on a talk page and getting feedback first. If these end up getting reverted, that's a waste of the server's effort for no good reason except that you decided "Challenge accepted" was an appropriate response to a user who doesn't have any authority on the matter, either. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 04:07, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Those aren't really notable. They were expected anyways. The only reason Dedenne gets to keep its trivia is because of the previous Pokemon that were caught aren't technically Fairy thus validating the trivia point.--ForceFire 04:13, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Hawlucha

Hello, can you tell me the exact time frame where Hawlucha gets called out twice? I have re-watched the scenes a couple of times (its Froakie first, followed by Fletching and then Hawlucha), but can't seem to find it. Thanks. AdynizWanna talk? 23:11, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Sure. When Ash called out Hawlucha in the beginning with Froakie and Fletchling, they came out of their Poké Balls at 00:35 (00:36 for Hawlucha). After Fletchling appeared, he looked up and Hawlucha came out again at 00:41. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 23:51, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Gym Battle episodes

I believe it depends on the Gym Leader, since some of them are just there, for Ash to challenge them, while others have shown more development or more plot-relevancy other than being an oponent in a battle. The Gym Battle episode against Brock was totally focusing on him, for example. This one was focused a little more on Ash, but just because of him realising he should use his own battle style instead of Tierno's. Everything else was 50/50, in my opinion.

The thing is, who the episode focuses on for a Gym Battle is not a written rule, much less who the title card is focused on, which not always has to do with whom the episode itself is actually focused on. For example, XY038 featured Clemont in the title card, yet the episode is not about him.

Another thing, your claims about Japanese writing are wrong. Ever since the Orange Islands saga, all writings are either latin alphabet or made-up letters. Johto had some runic-like writings, Hoenn had blocky letters, Sinnoh had some blurry, round-ish letters, and since the Best Wishes series, a whole language was made up for the anime. This language is what has been used in every episode since BW001, including Gurkinn's scroll, Clemont's letter for his friends from XY029, etc. PocketMonsters.net even has a whole guide to this language and translates it for every time it's featured. Some times they even put easter eggs when writing this way.

The only instances where Japanese text has ever been used since the Orange Islands are for Profesor Oak's Live Caster in BW128, and now in XY044. The former wasn't edited out for the English dub, so I'm eager about them keeping this one as well... --Gabo 2oo (talk) 16:17, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Hey

Thanks for catching that. I am working on a template and have put the STAB indicator on all physical and special moves in the template, so that's where the STAB addition came from: I had copied directly from the template and forgot to remove it. When I go to complete some TM lists with all the contest data I will have to be careful with that, but will be using Find/Replace in Notepad for prep starting from the full list every time (going to post the template in my userspace soon) so it should be easy to cut out or edit (for italics) the formatting if I am careful reading the moves on each one. I'll have to do extra research on HM06 and HM07 and appropriately tag matching TMs there, as well. CycloneGU (talk) 21:28, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Dive

I would argue it does change games in this generation. It cannot be learned as either a TM or HM in X/Y. There is no way for those Kalos specimens to learn Dive until being imported to OR/AS. And therefore the ORAS tag on Dive, I feel, is not only perfectly acceptable, but mandatory. CycloneGU (talk) 00:58, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Ok. I understand your point of view. The reason why I removed it is because this same situation happened in the Gen III games where Dive was present in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald but not in FireRed and LeafGreen. All of the Pokémon who could learn Dive via HM in Gen III did not have Dive labeled with RSE because HM08 was not available in FireRed and LeafGreen. That's why I removed the ORAS tag on Skrelp and Dragalge's pages. If HM07 needs to have the ORAS tag in Gen VI movelists, then I feel like all of the Pokémon who could learn Dive in Gen III need to have RSE added next to HM08 in their movelists as well. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 01:56, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation, and I can understand your reason for removing it. I actually am of the opinion that Dive should be labeled for R/S/E, myself, since it isn't possible to even acquire it in FR/LG. I never would have even thought about that had you not mentioned it because I wasn't editing here then and didn't think anything of it. As present, it suggests that it's possible for the entire generation, then it gives the false assumption that Pokémon can learn it in FR/LG. This is complicated at Dive where Gen. III is split in two columns, with no Emerald marker (the second half being FR/LG); notice I have not fully done Gen. VI versions yet because there is no split for it, and it's being held for now because Kogoro's working on a new format that you can find linked on her talk page where I asked about the page.
I'll leave it for now, but yeah...I don't want to give people the assumption that they can learn Dive in X/Y. Sure, they can be traded over, taught the move, and - provided there's no problem like that of Precipice Blades and company with the Kalos learners - returned (to then be fed a bunch of EV reducing berries that would affect a 0 EV stat to regain maximum friendship if that's desired), but no tag suggests that step is not necessary. So we should visit that option. Thanks again for the clarification. =) CycloneGU (talk) 02:22, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
You're welcome. Good night. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 03:01, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Luxio's VA Help

Could you help figure put who voiced Clemont's Luxio in the English version? Seeing it as unknown is bugging me.--JasonL 00:55, 8 March 2015 (UTC)JasonL (Talk)

Hidden Warning messages

Please do not change or alter a hidden message under any circumstances. In XY104's case, the message is explaining to users that Sylveon's Fairy type move requirement was never stated or indicated as Sylveon not knowing a Fairy type move was the reason it kept being added.--ForceFire 05:04, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Fansubs

Please don't use the fan subs for the dex entries, they are unofficial and fan made, regardless if the subber is well versed in the Japanase language. Thank you.--ForceFire 05:42, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Slurpuff and Raichu

Slurpuff was explicitly called a male, making Raichu a female. This is a perfect example of games=/=anime.--ForceFire 04:05, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

SM034

Please look at the edit history pages in future. There's nothing wrong with specifying what colour the white is on Steenee's body, in fact, it's probably better to be more descriptive, so do you mind if I add it back? Playerking95 (talk) 14:34, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Linking

Just an FYI, we link to the Pokémon's pre-evolved state in episodes where the Pokémon hasn't evolved, so Ash's Torracat should be linked as {{AP|Litten}} for episode before SM063. This is mostly to prevent spoilers. Thank you.--ForceFire 03:51, 2 March 2018 (UTC)

Userspace policy

Hi there! I've noticed that you tend to edit your user page a lot. Just a reminder that, per the userspace policy, users must contribute more to the mainspace than the userspace i.e. if you make 1 userspace edit, you must make at least 2 mainspace edits that day, etc. There's nothing wrong with editing your user page, just try to remember to help out plenty in the mainspace too. Hope this helps! Landfish7 07:08, 7 April 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for reminding me. I completely forgot about that. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 21:08, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
