The Sword & Shield Premium Trainer Box (Japanese: プレミアムトレーナーボックス ソード&シールド) is a Japanese-exclusive Pokémon Trading Card Game product that was released alongside the dual Sword and Shield expansions on December 6, 2019.
Information
Since the start of the Sun & Moon Era, Premium Trainer Boxes have become a staple release when a new TCG regulation block begins. The Sword & Shield Premium Trainer Box continues the trend of most prior releases by including only Trainer and Energy cards, as well as premium versions of damage counters and status markers. The selection of cards, sourced from both the Sword & Shield Era and the Sun & Moon Era, has its own collection number and symbol. Those from the Sun & Moon Era retain their original card design and feature the same collection symbol as the new Sword & Shield Era prints; cards from older Eras in preceding Premium Trainer Boxes featured a generic symbol denoting their origin. The box also includes a damage counter case, a coin sporting the Pokémon V mechanic symbol, and 10 booster packs each of Sword and Shield. The box itself can be used to store around 650 cards.
