Heal Block (Japanese: かいふくふうじ Restore Seal) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV.

Effect

Heal Block prevents the functioning of the moves Ingrain, Leech Seed, Aqua Ring, Moonlight, Morning Sun, Roost, Recover, Heal Order, Rest, Softboiled, Wish, Milk Drink, Slack Off, and Synthesis, whilst it is in play.

The moves Absorb, Mega Drain, Giga Drain, Leech Life, Dream Eater, and Drain Punch will still inflict damage, but will not restore HP whilst Heal Block is in play.

The abilities Ice Body and Rain Dish are unable to function whilst Heal Block is in play, regardless of the weather. Heal Block doesn't prevent HP-recovering items such as Leftovers from working.

Heal Block affects both opposing Pokémon during double battles.
