Punishment (Japanese: おしおき Punishment) is a damage-dealing Dark-type move introduced in Generation IV.

Effect

Punishment deals variable damage depending on the positive stat stages of the foe. Its damage is calculated by the following formula: File:Punishment formula.png , with a maximum base power of 200.

For example, if the target has used Bulk Up twice and Swords Dance once, there is a four-stage increase for the Attack stat and a two-stage increase in the Defense stat, making a total of six, which causes Punishment to have a base power of 180. Stats decreased below normal do not affect the base power. Accuracy and evasion are ignored.

Description

Games Description

BWB2W2 This attack's power increases the more the target has powered up with stat changes.
XYORAS The more the target has powered up with stat changes, the greater the move's power.
