Damp (Japanese: しめりけ Moisture) is an Ability introduced in Generation III. Eighteen Pokémon can have this Ability, all of which except two (from the same evolution line) are Water-type.
Effect
In battle
Damp prevents self-destruction and the use of moves such as Selfdestruct and Explosion. If Selfdestruct or Explosion are selected in battle, the attack will fail and the user will not faint. Also, the Ability Aftermath is prevented from doing damage. Damp affects non-adjacent Pokémon in Triple Battles.
Outside of battle
Damp has no effect outside of battle.
