Masters Tournament event opening

The (Japanese: マスターズトーナメント Masters Tournament) is a tournament held at the end of a World Coronation Series ranking season, where the top eight ranked competitors face off to determine the most powerful Pokémon Trainer in the world, known as the Monarch (Japanese: 王者 Monarch).

The previous tournament ended in Flash of the Titans!. The current tournament began in JN115.

The event is held at Wyndon Stadium in the Galar region.

Competition

Opening ceremony

During the opening ceremony, each member of the Masters Eight is introduced one by one, after which the matchups of the first round are chosen by random seeding.

Rounds

In this tournament, each Trainer can only use techniques such as Dynamax/Gigantamax, Z-Moves, or Mega Evolution once per match. Both challengers must send out their first Pokémon at the same time and may switch their Pokémon at any time. There is no time limit for any of the matches.

Quarterfinals

The quarterfinals are 3-on-3 matches. The winners here move on to the semifinals.
