Gen II sprites

The player of Gold or Silver is always Gold. Thusly, we use the Gold sprite. Besides, who says we used whichever sprite was "closer to Crystal"? -- MAGNEDETH 03:34, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

But it's more accurate to use the sprite closer to Crystal, because then, we have 2 of the same sprites for Gen. II games, and only 1 from the other. Therefore, similarity should come first. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 14:34, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
or we could do it uniformally, like a wiki, which this is one. besides, making based in similarities puts the job too close to a judgment call on the user's part, meaning an argument will inevitably break out. moreover, some Pokemon, like Magnemite dont base their Crystal sprites on neither their Gold nor Silver sprite. thusly, we are back at square one with judgment calls, and edit wars. -- MAGNEDETH 20:18, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Fine. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 00:48, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

You don't need the number for the first archives, it's just reffered to as just "Archives".--Tavisource 04:49, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

I prefer to do it different than that. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 00:48, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, that's just you, so please don't move other people's archive pages.--Tavisource 00:48, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Happy Birthday

Happened to notice it. I'd not be around later anyway. Also, I spot you agree Clefable isn't a UU Pokémon. :) Gywall(Talk) 12:41, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. And yeah. Magic Guard + Toxic Orb + Facade = BL Pokémon. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 12:46, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :D --ニョロトノ666 01:55, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 02:12, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

October 15 was also...

...Gold and Silver's release date, eight years ago. The moar you know. TTEchidna 06:53, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

That's cool. After all, Gold and Silver were my favourite Pokémon games. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 13:15, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Table of Contents

Why do you keep on removing it? Also, why only for 2008? tc26 13:27, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

It makes the page way too busy. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 13:28, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Question number 2? tc26 13:29, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
I'll go do the others right now. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 13:31, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Why do you keep making it like that? tc26 14:28, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Why do you hate the Platinum sprites? --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 14:29, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't. It just doesn't apply. Those were given away in another game. NOT PLATINUM! tc26 14:29, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
If we were doing it like that, the Gym Leaders would still have the Gen. I sprites for their Gen. I battle data. But they don't. So we don't have to be as strict with the event template. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 14:31, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Actually, they do. Get used to it! tc26 14:33, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Why do we have to be that consistent? The R/S sprites are old! --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 14:34, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes. They have to be used for something and they aren't old. It's a waste if we just used the latest sprites ALL the time. tc26 14:38, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
The sprites represent the game as well as the Pokémon in question. Just because something is new, it doesn't mean it is always better. Gywall(Talk) 14:41, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. tc26 14:43, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

But TTE and Moldy orange both said that the most-updated sprites should be used at all times, and they're admins. And I agree with them. That's 3 (me, TTE, and Moldy orange) against 2 (Tc26 and Gywall), and as I said, my side has 2 admins. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 14:45, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Then wait for them on this. I think, more or less, one of them has seen those and they didn't change them. Again, look at the Gym Leaders and even Blue.tc26 14:47, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Gosh, Baby G. Why are you so fixated with keeping the warning there? You kept that warning in the first place just because I removed another comment. Now that comment is back, but you still want to keep the warning. And you act like you have the power to block me. Jmath 14:48, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

I want it to stay there because you can't erase talk page comments under no circumstances! Stop erasing it or I'll get an admin to block you! --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 14:49, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Just to be grammatically correct, Baby g used a double negative, creating a positive result. Baby g grammatically said that you can erase talk page comments under every circumstance, which isn't true. Only when it is crap that belongs more on the forums. MoldyOrange 18:59, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

You know, there is something called "The Bulbagarden Forums." I don't think you've been there, but over there, we've decided to leave Mismaquaza, Venustoise, and the Toxicroak is causing disputes.--Tavisource 02:40, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

I've been over there. But why are we leaving them out? --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 18:34, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm gonna need you to reunify your accounts across the three Bulbawikis by logging in at each. TTEchidna 22:31, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Done. --Chocolate (talk to me) 22:33, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey you read the thing about Misraquaza and Venustoise and Toxicroak, right? Cause a while back, you had put them back on the list; they don't belong anymore. Back at the forums, everone's been making a big fuss about it.--Tavisource 17:22, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

You already made a section above about that, and I replied. --Chocolate (talk to me) 17:23, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, they are not "official" in the anime and were not "real" and for Toxicroak, there's already prove that it is NOT shiny.--Tavisource 17:29, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Well...Here's something of note:
Now, compare images one and three. Do they look similar in colour? I think so. Then, compare images one and two. Do they look similar in colour? No. --Chocolate (talk to me) 17:32, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Finished Hitmonlee. There has been other Toxicorak in the anime and they all are the same color, so that either proves that they are ALL NOT shiny, or that they are ALL shiny, which WE (everyone who participated at the forums) doubt.--Tavisource 17:36, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
And compare this to the first picture you have.--Tavisource 17:37, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
They look similar to me. --Chocolate (talk to me) 17:39, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Exactly! That little sprite is NOT shiny, and it looks similar to the picture YOU had, which means that they had altered the color in the anime as they had for Ash's Cyndaquil. Think about that. Hold on, I'll gotta go, I'll be back at 18:00 UTC.--Tavisource 17:42, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
So basically, Toxicroak is not shiny, but its anime colour is considered the common colour for the anime? --Chocolate (talk to me) 17:43, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for interrupting, but basically that is Toxicroak's color in the anime. Jmath 17:46, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

All right. I guess it's sorta similar to how Gligar is pink in the anime when it's purple in the games. --Chocolate (talk to me) 17:47, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes, exactly!--Tavisource 18:17, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Then, how 'bout this: We could also create a sprite of a pink Gligar, and use it on the page on any anime trainer that has/had a Gligar. Gligar is pink in the anime even though it's purple in the games, so we could make a shout-out to the anime by making a sprite of Gligar with its anime colour. What do you guys think? --Chocolate 21:25, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, still nothing. It's bigger, that much is true. But there is still no Ash. Is it the right picture? --PsychicRider 20:59, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

I can see Ash in it. Try refreshing more, and if that doesn't work, press CTRL+F5 or something like that. - s.Combusken 21:01, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
I refreshed it once more and got it. I thought it was supposed to be the same picture but with Ash, like holding onto Swellow's leg. Never mind now. --PsychicRider 21:03, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Just wondering...

You know how you have Pokémon sprites at the bottom of your user page? Why do you have Ken sugimori's picture of Mamoswine instead of a Mamoswine sprite? Is that a mistake? Because all the others are sprites. So if it was a mistake, I jsut wanted to let you know, if you did that on purpose, then never mind.--Tavisource 22:02, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

I did it on purpose, because I'm using my favourite images of each of my favourite Pokémon, and the Mamoswine artwork is my favourite Mamoswine image. --Chocolate 22:03, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

is not a proper noun. it does not get capitalized. -- MAGNEDETH 01:27, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Whereas, the FIRST LETTER OF A SENTENCE DOES. I'm gonna kill you, 'deth! JK. :D --ニョロトノ666 01:28, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Over on Wikipedia, "Internet" is always considered a proper noun. --Chocolate 01:29, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
It is a proper noun, actually.
Many people consider that Internet should be capitalised in the context of the global network, reserving internet with a lower-case i for any other set of computer networks connected by internetworking. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 01:29, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Correct. --Chocolate 01:30, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
we are not Wikipedia. and Poli, i didnt capitalize it here on purpose, i know that old rule. i just checked, it isnt capitalized. -- MAGNEDETH 01:31, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, Wikipedia also spells "Pokémon" like "pokemon" 80% of the time. Shoot for individuality in our wiki! Actually, I don't care. --ニョロトノ666 01:32, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
...*sigh* Didn't anyone understand what I said? Internet is capitalized in the case of what you're using now. For pete's sake it's from a dictionary!Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 01:34, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes. Optimatum is correct. --Chocolate 01:35, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
i will not admit i was wrong in this case because i dont feel "internet" is a proper noun, but, if thats the way everyone else feels, ill leave it alone. -- MAGNEDETH 01:37, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Custom Sprite Table

You had recently expanded the size. Does it fit okay? I cannot tell, because my computer screen is 1680 x 1050, so I can fit 18 on it.--Tavisource 00:30, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

On my monitor, it does. --Chocolate 00:43, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
I think it would be best if you switched it back so it would fit most people's--Tavisource 01:02, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I will. Also, can you please check my most recent reply in the section "CSP" here? --Chocolate 01:07, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Why would we make a Gligar? The point is that we should NOT make Pokémon that are different in color in the anime.--Tavisource 01:15, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
But if we made sprites for Pokémon with their anime colours, it would be consistent with the anime. --Chocolate 01:19, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
No, we got rid of all those sprites...they are not good.--Tavisource 01:23, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
But as I said, it would be more consistent. --Chocolate 01:23, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
First, we are not allowed to under the rules. Second, they can't have a consistency, because color changes ALWAYS causes conflicts.--Tavisource 01:28, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
There are rules that we can't? Who came up with those rules? --Chocolate 01:30, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

No reply? Chocolate 19:57, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Here's your answer: TTEchidna, and many other admins over at the forums.--Tavisource 20:58, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Why do we have rules like that? Chocolate 20:58, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Look at the forums. And you must listen to them, they are admins and i'm the founder...I'm leaving for today...I'm tire of this arguing.--Tavisource 21:03, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
If we can't make different colour sprites for Pokémon, I might leave the custom sprite project. Okay, I'm not gonna leave the project, but I really think we should create sprites of Pokémon with their anime colours. As I said, it would be more consistent with the anime. If we don't make sprites of Pokémon that naturally have different colours in the anime, we'd have to get rid of the other different-colour anime Pokémon, 'cause it wouldn't be fair. So, I made a pink Gligar. 7269l0.png What do you think of it? Chocolate 21:25, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Looks a bit like it was drawn with a colored pencil--KukiTalk 21:28, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, it wasn't. And it matches Gligar's anime colours. Chocolate 21:29, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Fight over Rotom's status

How dare you threaten me, when YOU are in the wrong, its his sub page and he wants it on his User space, the talk page is where you then discuss what has been put on that page, and incase you handnt noticed the rules he controls what is put on personal pages as long as he doesnt put anything on there that shouldnt be there, the only exception being the main talk page, do it agian and I will go to the moderators about you. --Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010

Party Template

that template is about to get phased out. so, you probably shouldnt even bother... -- MAGNEDETH 19:42, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Why is it getting phased out? Chocolate 19:42, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
The vote. TTEchidna came up with a way to show the regular battlesprites--KukiTalk 19:43, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
But, will that do anything negative to it that will affect the pages using it? Chocolate 19:44, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
no, but theres no point in wasting your time making them if they will just get deleted later on anyway. im not saying you cant make them, im just saying its a waste of time. -- MAGNEDETH 19:49, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't get it. Is the party template gonna be deleted and replaced with a new one? You gotta be more specific. Chocolate 19:50, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
im not sure if its going to be replaced entirely, or just ignored. but whatever it is, it wont be the future template used. so, why waste your time making it now, when in a short time, it will need to be replaced by the new one anyway? -- MAGNEDETH 19:57, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Fine, I'll wait and see what happens. Chocolate 20:05, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

because i had already posted it on your own page. no need to have it on two pages. -- MAGNEDETH 19:09, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey. Where did you hear that trivia is only bulleted if there are multiple items? Is that in writing anywhere? --ニョロトノ666 01:08, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

I saw it like that on several other pages in the past. Plus, the bullets are used to list pieces, but with only one piece of trivia, there isn't much need for a bullet. Chocolate 01:09, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't recall anything in policy stating that trivia sections with only one item must go without a bullet. As far as I know, single-piece trivia sections with a bullet are found on many pages on many MediaWiki-based wikis, even on Wikipedia. Making edits saying "trivia sections with only one piece of trivia can't have a bullet" is basically trying to enforce a rule that does not exist. --Shiningpikablu252 01:55, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Which sadly, you have done on multiple occasions. Remember the "Three revert rule" you tried to enforce at me on the archives? yeah, that doesn't exist either. And I know Mags can name another occasion which was directed at him. MaverickNate 02:03, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
indeed he has, i cant cite anything off the top of my head, but i can confirm it. also, i think this bullet thing should be added somewhere. i support it. -- MAGNEDETH 02:17, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Pikablu: But as I said, bullets are used for listing stuff seperately. If there's only one thing mentioned in a trivia section, the bullet has little use.
Mav: The 3RR exists on Wikipedia, and I think it'd be useful here, since it would help prevent edits wars.
MAGNEDETH: Do you support using a bullet or not using a bullet for just one piece of trivia? Chocolate 20:29, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

I edited that factoid out of the page because it is no longer true, unless a different meaning of form is meant. Rotom's different forms all learn different moves, or at least one different move each. Quadropheneom 03:58, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Well, you should use an edit summary if you're gonna remove stuff like that. And please leave new sections at the bottom of the page, not top. Chocolate 20:29, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
I apologize, I did not to know to use this feature. What do you mean by "stuff like that"?Quadropheneom 00:31, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
I mean trivia. If it's trivia that people might be interested in, you should use an edit summary so they know why you removed it. Chocolate 00:32, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

I demand you stay

Look. Your edits have increased in quality tremendously since you came here. And you've worked hard to contribute to important things on here. I know you're not going to throw that all away just because of a single incident that doesn't even concern you. And while you call Kuki's block "abuse of power," it's exactly the opposite. Abuse of power is taking control into your own hands and dishing out trouble by way of authority. What MAGNEDETH did in blocking Kuki was exactly the opposite. You do know why Kuki was blocked, don't you? His mom asked for it. Bending to the whims of a third party isn't abuse of power; it's being passively manipulated, and it's ridiculous. I'm going to have a talk with the other powers involved in this and see if I can't get Kuki unblocked, so why don't you stick around? :D --ニョロトノ666 21:36, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Okay. I'll stay. But if one more thing happens here that pisses me off to the limits, I'll leave again. I agree, it's ridiculous that Kuki was blocked because of his mom. Chocolate 21:39, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
