Cuttable plant

A cuttable plant is an overworld obstacle in the core series games that can be removed by cutting it. These plants can be cut down by the field move Cut or the Secret Technique Chop Down.

From Generation I to V, these plants are small, skinny trees. In Generation VI, they are thorny bushes. In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, they are small plants but sprawl widely to obstruct the player.

Viridian Forest A plant found at the east of the southern exit blocks an optional path to avoid battling Bug Catcher Dane. HGSS
A plant found at the west of the southern exit blocks an optional shortcut to the southwestern area of the forest.
Route 2 Multiple plants block access between west and east sides of this route. In all games except HeartGold and SoulSilver, another plant blocks the way in the east side. RBYGSCFRLGHGSSPE
Pewter City A plant blocks access to the Pewter Museum of Science. RBYFRLGPE
Route 8 Two plants block access to a patch of tall grass. RBYGSCFRLGHGSSPE
Route 9 A plant blocks access between Cerulean City and this route.
Vermilion City A plant blocks access to Vermilion Gym, which can also be reached via water.
Route 10 Various plants are seen aligned close to the north entrance of the Rock Tunnel. In Generations I and III, the northernmost plant blocks access to a Super Potion. RBYFRLGPE

Bond Bridge A plant blocks access to a path that leads to a PP Up in Three Island.
Berry Forest Various plants are scattered around the forest and don't block the passage. One plant blocks access to a Max Elixir.
Five Isle Meadow A plant blocks access to a Max Potion.

Johto

Route 32 A plant blocks access to a small area with a man who gives TM05 (Roar). In HeartGold and SoulSilver, a hidden Super Potion is also found in this area.
Ilex Forest A plant blocks access between south and north segments of this forest.
Route 35 A plant at the north blocks a shortcut to Route 36.
Route 42 A plant blocks access to three Apricorn trees.
Route 43 A small lake and a plant block access to a Black Apricorn tree.
Lake of Rage Various plants block access, forming a labyrinth. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, when the lake is flooded, there are no visible cuttable plants.

Mirage Forest (east of Mossdeep City) A plant blocks access to a Green Shard.
Mirage Forest (south of Route 132) A plant blocks access to an Iron.

Route 204 A plant blocks access to TM78 (Captivate). DPPt
Eterna Forest The outside area of this forest is blocked by two plants in the southwest corner and two plants in the northeast corner. These blocked passages serve as a shortcut between two parts of Route 205.
At the inside, two plants near the southern entrance block a small optional passage. Unblocking this passage is a way to avoid stepping on some tall grass.
At the inside, three plants block the entrance to the Old Chateau.
Eterna City Three plants block access to Team Galactic Eterna Building.
Route 209 A plant blocks access to TM47 (Steel Wing), at the south of the Lost Tower.
Route 212 At the west of this route, a plant blocks access to TM11 (Sunny Day). It is also reachable via water.
A plant blocks access to a X SpecialDP / Hyper PotionPt, near the southeastern exit.
A plant blocks access to a Zinc near the shard collector's house.
Route 215 A plant blocks access to a Fist Plate near Black Belt Gary at the middle of the route.

Route 22 A plant in the northwest corner of this route blocks an Elixir.
