Constrict (Japanese: からみつく Coil Around) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation I

Constrict inflicts damage and has a 33.2% chance of lowering the target's Speed stat by one stage.

Generation II onward

Constrict now has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Speed stat by one stage.

BWB2W2 The target is attacked with long, creeping tentacles or vines. It may also lower the target's Speed stat.
XYORAS The target is attacked with long, creeping tentacles or vines. This may also lower the target's Speed stat.
SMUSUM The target is attacked with long, creeping tentacles, vines, or the like. This may also lower the target's Speed stat.
