Heat Crash (Japanese: ヒートスタンプ Heat Stamp) is a damage-dealing Fire move introduced in Generation V. It is the signature move of Tepig's evolutionary line.
Heat Crash (Japanese: ヒートスタンプ Heat Stamp) is a damage-dealing Fire move introduced in Generation V. Prior to Generation VIII, it was the signature move of Tepig's evolutionary line. It was TR88 in Generation VIII, and is TM189 in Generation IX.

Generation V
Generation V
Heat Crash does damage in base depending on the weight of both the user and the target; when the user is heavier than the target, more damage is inflicted.
Heat Crash deals damage. Its power depends on the weight of both the user and the target; the greater the difference between the user's weight and the target's weight, the greater the power:
The damage can be calculated in this form:

* 120 base power, if target's weight is lower or equal to ⅕ (20%) of user's weight.
* 100 base power, if target's weight is greater than ⅕ (20%) of user's weight and lower or equal to ¼ (25%) of user's weight.
* 80 base power, if target's weight is greater than ¼ (25%) of user's weight and lower or equal to ⅓ (33.3%) of user's weight.
* 60 base power, if target's weight is greater than ⅓ (33.3%) of user's weight and lower or equal to ½ of user's weight (50%).
* 40 base power, if target's weight is greater than ½ (50%) of user's weight.

Since Tepig, Pignite, and Emboar will always have constant weights, one can find out which weight classes will receive how much base damage.

For the species Emboar as an example:

Heat Crash (Japanese: ヒートスタンプ Heat Stamp) is a damage-dealing Fire-type move introduced in Generation V. Prior to Generation VIII, it was the signature move of Tepig's evolutionary line. It was TR88 in Generation VIII, and is TM189 in Generation IX.

Effect

Generation V

Heat Crash deals damage. Its power depends on the weight of both the user and the target; the greater the difference between the user's weight and the target's weight, the greater the power:

Target's relative weight Power
More than 50% 40
33.35% - 50% 60
25.01% - 33.34% 80
20.01% - 25% 100
20% or less 120

Generation VI onwards

If the target has used Minimize, Heat Crash now deals double its regular damage and bypasses accuracy checks to always hit, unless the target is in the semi-invulnerable turn of a move such as Dig or Fly.

Heat Crash will fail against a Dynamaxed target.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Heat Crash cannot be selected in a battle.
