Coaching (Japanese: コーチング Coaching) is a non-damaging Fighting-type move introduced in Generation VIII. It is TM213 in Generation IX.

Effect

Coaching boosts the Attack and Defense of all allies (but not the user or allies in the semi-invulnerable turn of a move) by one stage each. It bypasses all forms of protection to affect the allies, including Crafty Shield.

If used in a Single Battle or when no ally is present, Coaching will fail.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Coaching cannot be selected in a battle.

Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, Coaching is one of Mew's possible second moves. It is obtained by reaching level 3 and choosing it over Light Screen and Agility.

Coaching has the user move toward an ally Pokémon to grant it a shield and increase its basic attack speed. Each time Coaching is used, the cooldown of Mew's Electro Ball, Solar Beam, or Surf is reduced. Also, if Coaching is used on an ally Pokémon that hasn't been targeted by it for a set amount of time, the move's cooldown immediately resets.

By reaching level 12, Coaching is upgraded into Coaching+, and its cooldown and the waiting time before using it again on a recently coached ally Pokémon without triggering its cooldown are reduced.
