The Sun & Moon Trainer Kit: Lycanroc & Alolan Raichu was the first Trainer Kit to be released as part of the Sun & Moon Series. The Lycanroc Half Deck contains Fighting-type Pokémon and the Alolan Raichu Half Deck features Lightning-types. None of the included cards have Rarity symbols and they each feature a collection number and set symbol exclusive to the kit. While the majority of cards are reprints from other expansions, Lycanroc, Alolan Raichu, Pikachu, Fletchling, and Fletchinder are new. The collection numbers reflect the order cards are to be drawn for each Half Deck's tutorial game, allowing for easy reset if the decks are accidentally shuffled prior to use. The tutorials are covered in the enclosed Trainer Kit Guides, which take players through eight turns. In addition to the Half Decks and guides, each kit includes an instruction sheet, a deck box, a 2-player playmat and rulesheet, a paperboard sheet of damage counters and status markers, and a coin featuring Alolan Raichu.
