The fourth set in Pokémon Mezastar's Double Chain series was released on February 9, 2023. It consisted of 70 tags and was the thirteenth set overall.

Information

The Origin Formes of Dialga and Palkia were the central Pokémon for this set and, along with Kleavor, another Pokémon Legends: Arceus debutant, were available as Grade 6 tags boasting elevated stats for their species. The fourth Double Chain set also featured numerous Pokémon with powered-up mechanics, including Grade 6 Reshiram, Zekrom, and Salamence, which could use Double Moves; Grade 6 Corviknight and Machamp, which could Gigantamax; Grade 6 Latias, Latios, and a Grade 5 Gallade, which could Mega Evolve; Grade 5 Therian Formes of Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus, which could use Z-Moves; Grade 5 Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja, which could use Chain Attacks; and Grade 5 Dusknoir and Haxorus, which could Dynamax. Previously featured Superstar Pokémon Arceus, Giratina, and Darkrai could be encountered and obtained as Legacy tags from March 16, 2023.

Players could earn Weekly Stamps by using a Memory tag at any time from the set's launch up until April 12, 2023, and could earn more each subsequent week within the period by using a Memory tag with the same saved profile. Players that accumulated two stamps would unlock a fluffy ear warmer Fashion Item to customize their avatar; four stamps would unlock a Superstar Sensor; five stamps would unlock a Kleavor Emblem; six stamps would unlock another Superstar Sensor. Any player with the Kleavor Emblem would have a chance to add Kleavor to their Support Pokémon roster during Get in Battle! mode. Players using a Memory tag also had the opportunity to add new Partner Pokémon to their roster—Nidoran♂, Lotad, and Vanillite were available for this set, each of which could evolve through to their final stage by earning Star Points. Double Star Points could be earned in two stints over the course of the set: between March 9 and 22, 2023 and between April 6 and 19, 2023. Players with a Mezastar Club account could redeem digital tickets and scan them on Mezastar machines to unlock exclusive features. These included a Support Pokémon Ticket for a Nidoking and a Present Ticket to unlock a set of Fashion Items comprising fashionable bottoms and fashionable shoes. A limited Present Ticket for a set of Hinamatsuri roleplay Fashion Items could be redeemed through the club between March 3 and 16, 2023 in conjunction with the Japanese holiday.

The Trainer and Battle lineup for this set included two returning Trainer classes in DJ and Charisma Owner, a new Trainer class in Multiple Part-timer, and a new Star Trainer named Terina. Conspicuous Trainer Yūsuke reprised his role from the previous set, appearing in upgraded attire. Mezastar Club members could redeem Battle Tickets for each opponent and challenge them to unlock new customization options for their avatar. Between February 23 and March 22, 2023, players could challenge Star Trainers Nobure and Shaolo in a Trainer Tag Battle. Players that managed to defeat the pair each unlocked a coat Fashion Item with a Flash Chance! pattern.[1] The pair was available to challenge again as part of a limited event held between March 25 and April 9, 2023.[2] Professor M and Mr. J, personas respectively adopted by Mezastar Navigators Masato and J in occasional Mezastar TV episodes, could also be challenged as Trainer Tag Battle opponents for a limited time as part of the ranked Challenge from Professor M & Mr. J! campaign. Pairs that defeated Professor M and Mr. J in battle would unlock Mezastar TV glasses Fashion Items for their avatars. Players with the top 100 scores following the end of the campaign also won a certificate. The campaign ran from March 26 until April 19, 2023.[3]

Between March 9 and April 19, 2023, players could challenge another Tournament through Memory tag mode. This event was named Star Trainer Tournament (Japanese: スタートレーナートーナメント) and featured seven Star Trainers from previous set's Trainer and Battle lineups: Takeru, Hitomi, Nobure, Tarmo, Yokutar, Hiroki, and Kinika. Opponents used the same Pokémon as per their original appearance and defeating one for the first time would unlock a new Support Pokémon Ticket. Players could also unlock a set of dresswear Fashion Items with their first Tournament victory and winning an entire Tournament would earn players an in-game trophy.[4]
