As a Cleffa

Clefairy originated as a Cleffa in Mt. Moon. He was raised by his evolutionary relatives, one of them who is his brother, Clefable. One day, while Pichu was whacking a giant apple like a piñata, Cleffa was by the bushes, all lonesome. As Pichu had blindfolds on at the time, he accidentally trips on Cleffa, crashing to the ground. Cleffa decided to join Pichu, Jigglypuff, and Igglybuff on their adventures after supporting Cleffa. While on their way to Mt. Moon, the four of them get attacked by a Houndour and its pack. Cleffa was too shy to battle them until the pack made their move. Cleffa and the others stopped them by using Charm. Cleffa and the group along with two Houndour arrive in Mt. Moon where Cleffa got to reunite with Clefable. As Pichu and the others were about to leave, Cleffa became sad when they did so and wanted to tag along. Clefable accepted Cleffa's decision and Cleffa tagged along with Pichu and the others.

Cleffa evolved into Clefairy sometime before Clefairy Comes Through.

Afterwards, two Ekans started to pick on Clefairy. Hazel arrived to scare them away and met Clefairy. Hazel then helped Clefairy get over his fear by training. They started with a Metapod but even though it could only harden itself, Clefairy was still scared. The two Ekans from before returned with Arbok. Clefairy defended Hazel from them by successfully defeating the trio with Mega Punch.

In Christmas Wishes, Clefairy and his friends went to Wigglytuff's mansion to celebrate Christmas.

Personality and characteristics

Clefairy is defined by his meek and shy personality, reflected in his Timid nature. He tries to overcome his shyness in Adventuring The Stone, however, he fails all the tests that Almond sets for him. Despite his shortcomings, he is a talented artist.

He is a compassionate Pokémon that cares deeply for Hazel, venturing up a treacherous mountain to rescue her in The Legendary Articuno. He is also deeply upset when he thinks that Hazel no longer wants to be friends with him in Valentine Heartbeats.

When required to defend himself, Clefairy is a competent battler, using the powerful Metronome technique.

He has an older brother, a Clefable.
