Hazel and friends travel to a ski resort. When Almond admits his surprise at Hazel's ability to ski, she clarifies that she only knows how to start, but not to stop. Hazel proceeds to speed uncontrollably downhill. Pikachu, Clefairy, and Jigglypuff hurry after her, but soon discover her skis and blood-stained hat lying at the edge of a cliff. The three are horrified by a shared imagination of Hazel lying dead in the snow below them.
Grandpa skis over to the group, and after hearing their concerns, mentions that there are rumors of an Articuno living in the snowy mountains. When he explains that Articuno supposedly spirits the souls of lost travelers away, Pikachu and Clefairy decide to seek it out and demand Hazel's life back.
As the three Pokémon traverse the snowy landscape, Clefairy begins to feel weary from the cold. It collapses, and after giving a speech of how grateful it is for its experiences with its friends, it announces that it is going to where Hazel is. After a false ending in which a text box breaks the fourth wall to thank the reader for their support, Jigglypuff yells at Clefairy for being overdramatic.
Jigglypuff then flies off to speak with a Dragonair and has it use its tail to launch the three far across the mountains, causing them to land in front of a snow cone shop owned by Articuno. Assuming that the three Pokémon have arrived to compete in a contest to eat 50 snow cones, Articuno explains that it will use its powers to grant them a wish if one of them wins. Realizing that they could use their wish to revive Hazel from the dead, Pikachu and Clefairy eagerly participate with Jigglypuff.
While Clefairy and Pikachu can only stomach a few snow cones, Jigglypuff manages to eat 49 of them. To Clefairy and Pikachu's dismay, Jigglypuff politely declines eating the 50th snow cone that would win the contest. Recognizing the amount of effort everyone gave, Articuno offers to grant their wish anyway. As Pikachu and Clefairy thank the Legendary Pokémon profusely, Hazel wanders over from a nearby room, confused as to how they wound up at the shop. When the two Pokémon leap onto her in tears, Hazel explains to them that she had crashed into a tree and Articuno had flown her to safety. Happy that everyone is reunited, Articuno flies the group back down the mountain and bids them farewell.
The next day, Hazel apologizes as Pikachu and Clefairy suffer from stomach aches that were brought on by eating so many snow cones. Jigglypuff, on the other hand, is entirely unaffected.
