Arbok (Japanese: アーボック Arbok) is a character in the Magical Pokémon Journey manga. At the beginning, he was one of the antagonists of the series, but later he softened and became friends with the main characters. He is the boss of the Ekans Brothers.

Arbok first appeared in Clefairy Comes Through! where the Ekans Brothers returned with him. They attempted to attack Hazel but were foiled by Clefairy's Mega Punch and sent flying.

In Christmas Wishes, Arbok had a Christmas party in Wigglytuff's mansion.

In Even an Arbok Falls in Love!, he gets a crush on Wigglytuff. Hazel and the Pokémon help Arbok become friends with Wigglytuff by helping him build a Wigglytuff statue out of roses.

In The Terror of... the First Date!, he asks Wigglytuff out on their first date. After this, he and Wigglytuff are rarely seen in the series again; they do not feature prominently until Pokémon Sports Meet!, when Wigglytuff participates in the titular sports meet and Arbok is a judge.

Personality and characteristics

Arbok was initially an antagonist to the main characters and the Pokémon, even attacking Hazel at first. However, during the Christmas party in Wigglytuff's mansion, Arbok became more friendlier to them.

  • In Volume 1, Yumi Tsukirino states that she added an Arbok to the story because she liked them and thought they were fun to draw. She also said that she was surprised that several people wrote to her saying that they did not like them.
